But the narrative that London is more dangerous because of 'foreigners' or black and brown people is for the birds. The majority white shires of England are worse by far.

Same. Lived in a relatively affluent town on the edge of the Cotswolds. Probably a combination of various things, mainly boredom and the 90's/00's drinking culture. But I have never experinenced anything like the anarchy of a Friday and Saturday night of that town centre in the City.
