That scene was ππ» so ππ» dang ππ» good. The cast chemistry is sitting right there at number two for strongest selling point of this show so far (just behind the story format as number one).

β300th Nightβ is very much a part one and setup episode for the season finale of #StarfleetAcademy but even so, thereβs lots to chew on, especially the friendship dynamics between the cadets. I quite like how Sam specifically is portrayed here given last episodeβs events. Excited for the finale ππ»
Porthos the beagle. Snoopy the beagle. This was inevitable.
This one's a character request from one of our Security Blanket Ensigns on Patreon - they asked for Porthos in the jumpsuit and honestly I loved drawing him this way.
Merging Paramount+ and HBO Max may have some upside for #StarTrek, which is currently locked behind the streaming service with one of the lower subscriber numbers. A bigger service with HBO/WB content will expand the exposure of Trek to more viewers. Plenty to dislike about Para/WB but not that.
Not just a great Star Trek film but a great film period.
Side note: if you exclude βLet Heβ¦β, the run starting with βTrials & Tribble-ationsβ to βFirst Contactβ has a pretty high average score. A lot of top shelf in a short period.
"First Contact" is a marvel of cinematic efficiency. Perfectly constructed, balancing core #StarTrek big picture elements, brilliantly expanding on existing continuity and offering eerie horror moments, all while working as a great standalone sci-fi action film. Perfect.
Score: 5.0/5

Ok, I stand corrected. Thanks. Strange that wiki and other articles that pop up donβt mention this.
Wasnβt familiar with him but reading up, it seems like he was raised being told his absent father was of Cherokee descent, got a PhD in Native American studies, only to find out that wasnβt the case. βLieβ seems like a strong word here. I imagine finding out your whole identity is a lie is jarring.
Thank you! I always love a good recommendation. I just read Babel by R.F. Kuang which explores similar themes in an Oxford dark academia setting in the 1800s. It was a phenomenal read and is a perfect book for word nerds.
Hire Ross to write a superior #StarTrek ABCs kidβs book because the current one, which Iβve read a hundred times at this point to my kids, makes aggravating and redundant choices.
Writing out this monthβs whiteboard calendar was really emotional because at the end of it, I will have a pair of three year olds on my hands πππ
How are these kids so big already? I wanna slow down time please.
Bummer! What is the official designation for ConCrud when itβs also CruiseCrud?
Oh hell yeah! At this price point, this is great. Usually their stuff is out of my range.
Definitely going to have to get one to satisfy my inner Klingon #StarTrek
I think I need to give this weekβs another watch. My gut has it at 2 and Vox In Excelso at 3 but they both are really close
Honestly deserves a 2.0 on HFS because HFS they really did that and did it so well.
"Trials and Tribble-ations" is as loving a tribute to past #StarTrek as one can imagine. The attention to detail, the technical expertise and the perfectly calibrated tone all work together to create a legendarily classic episode of television. All-timer in every way.

Amazing how incredible the output was for such a short stretch of time. Truly in a league of his own.
Iβve been vibing with him and Simon & Garfunkel to round out this week.

The Jim Croce βPhotographs & Memoriesβ Greatest Hits album heals the soul.
I am very glad I do not have to step back into a school building until March. I am so over February. This has been an incredibly long short month lol.

Totally a relief hearing the reason why the writers held back. I hope so too! I trust that she will be back (and I hope other disco friends too).
The 90s format of television certainly lessened the impact of episodes like that and this does make a big difference to revisit it!
#StarfleetAcademy has been such a gift and it feels like the feedback for Discovery and SNW and Picard was taken to heart. All of those shows have great stuff too but it feels good to finally get a show like this.
The choice to hold Tilly back until now is one I am a huge fan of now that we see why. It feels earned and doesnβt overshadow the group. #StarfleetAcademy just seems to construct its stories with the big picture in mind and doesnβt ever seem to lose sight of the forest for the trees.
#StarfleetAcademy βThe Life of the Starsβ does so much for the season as a whole and expertly weaves both A and B stories thematically together. This show has somehow achieved (in 8 episodes) a formula that consistently enriches the universe and allows room for characters to grow and breath.
It takes a minute for #SFA's "The Life of the Stars" to show its cards, but it sure packs a wallop once it does. The dramatic device driving the story gives the episode a unique and distinctive flair, which enhances the emotional impact of everything around it. I thought this was truly exceptional.
Today, I am grateful for group chats with #StarTrek friends. It truly reaches a tier of humor that is vastly under-appreciated in all other aspects of my life and it brings me joy. ππ»
Since July, it had been $59.88 total ($19.96 a container).
This increase is only an 11% increase over that but itβs incredibly noticeable given 8 months have passed since the initial increase.
For the whole year, the current price is a $283.68 increase in cost.
Unsustainable cost of living.
The cost of coffee went up again π
I usually buy three 30 oz containers of McCafe coffee a month. In June of last year, it was $42.84 ($14.28 per container).
Today, it was $66.48 ($22.16 a container). Thatβs an increase of $7.88 a container (a 55% increase).
So over this tariff inflation.
