Sneakily changed my display name because on Thursday I passed my viva with minor corrections!! ๐๐๐
A photograph of the stained glass window in Birmingham Cathedral. The window shows the acesnsion of Christ. By Edward Burne-Jones & William Morris' studio. If you look closely, you can see Morris patterns in the glass panels.
Had such a fab time at #VPFAExtremes (as usual) and met so many lovely people (also as usual). Saw this cool window, too (less usual).
Just submitted my thesis. Time for a nice, long nap.
Happy Pride Month! Don't forget to check out the Midlands Art Papers (featuring yours truly) to see the exciting queer work going on in midlands museums!

A copy of Wolf Siren by Beth O'Brien. Cover is a lovely illustration of an autumnal wood with three black wolves prowling around a girl in a red cloak. Buy it or else.
My lovely friend Beth is not on Bluesky, but her book comes out in 2 days! I got mine early because I'm special ๐๐
Word and page count of my thesis draft. 199 pages, approx. 75000 words.

A hardback copy of Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson. Cover shows a man standing on a roof and looking out over the mountains in black and white with a red sun overhead.
Now that I'm done with work, I can finally start reading this 1300-page monstrosity I've been anticipating all year! Will I finish it before Christmas? Doubtful.
Hey Bluesky people! I'm currently a PhD candidate at the University of Birmingham studying queer fiction by suffragist and socialist women authors in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. I also run the online project Queer Nineteen which I will transfer here too as soon as possible!
