Instantly recognisable, well done!
Instantly recognisable, well done!
A heavily damaged Knight has been salvaged and (mostly) repaired by a traitor crew. The cockpit canopy has a large hole through which the pilot is just visible, the battlecannon's barrel has been replaced, and old Imperial markings have been scratched out and replaced with crude Chaos symbols
I have a Knight for that!
Not yet attached to the base (no idea where it fits), but my offering for #HobbyStreak day 417
A Primaris Space Marine in off-white armour with yellow hands and helmet-muzzle, red tabard and bolter casing, gold details, and blue eye-lenses
I'd only intended to basecoat this test marine for #HobbyStreak day 416, but then I sat down and just fully painted it. I think I've hit a turning point in my hobby? Painting has historically been my least favourite bit (despite loving having my own finished minis).
Back to the Knight tomorrow!
You know what... Yeah, maybe ๐
Really it's a choice of front- or rear-wheel drive...
I'm partial to the vaguely impractical, snowmobile-look of A
Got most of the mega flora glued in for #HobbyStreak day 415, with the bulk of my time going into figuring out how to have one tree uprooted by the Knight stomping through. Mostly just building up the root ball so far
A large oval plastic base with a wide strip of white card running at an angle over the screen-left side. On the far left, towards the back, is a single lamppost overhanging the card
Decided an Imperial garden would have huge concrete slabs for a footpath, so spent #HobbyStreak day 414 shaping and texturing some thick plasticard (not that the texture shows up... fingers crossed for painting!)
Also, I finally found a use for an intact lamppost!
Huh... Yeah I think you've called it right, I hadn't clocked that at all
A Knight Tyrant's legs on a large oval base. In the foreground, biased to the screen-right side, there is a figure with upraised hands stood between palm-like trees
Started to plan out the Tyrant's basing for #HobbyStreak day 413; I really want to get this sense of it emerging from / moving through a park or botanical garden (or whatever the Imperial equivalent would be). I'll probably add a footpath on the left side to justify the lack of trees there
Dietary restrictions really do shine a light on how little food companies care about public health. It gets even worse because they will randomly change the recipe or even have manufacturing variations so you're constantly reading labels.
It sucks.
Hope you find some stuff you can trust.
I do miss the outright goofiness of that era haha
Nuffle blesses those that are up for a laugh
Weirdly AoS is less model intensive then Fantasy was, but I think Skaven are about on par with Tyranids for potential via Plague Monks
Reminds me of the old Skaven lists for Fantasy:
"I deploy my ten wide, ten ranks deep unit of Skaven slaves"
"A hundred strong?! How many points is it?"
"Fifty."
The torso of a Knight Tyrant with a semi-circular couch where the cockpit should be. A mutated figure reclines in the couch with various dishes of food and drink on the sides. On the screen-left shoulder of the Knight is a multiple-missile launcher cupped in a large pair of hands, and on the right a large skeletal snake with cannons extending from the mouth
Close up rear view of the same Knight Tyrant's torso showing a pipe mouthpiece resting on the arm of the couch connected to a long tube the leads into a hole in the back of the carapace
Worked on adding all the details to the torso for #HobbyStreak day 412! Of course my stupid missile turret caused a problem again! Fortunately I realised before attaching the pauldron, but it blocks where the hookah would normally go. So I greenstuffed out a longer tube to connect back into the rear
As someone living with a person that had to deal with this, estrogen supplements seemed to make the world of difference.
What ever you do, I hope you find a way through it
Right?! I was certain we'd get something with those new Terminators
A set of Knight Tyrant legs, laying on their side, complete with armour plates featuring tentacle-like markings, strange runes, and daemonic faces
Spent #HobbyStreak day 411 sanding down all that greenstuff from the last week or so and then, in what can only be described as a call for help, I decided to remove all the rivets from every armour plate.
At least it's all mounted now! At least on the legs, still a bunch of work to do on the torso
Fifty days in, well done!
Wishing you all a very merry summary judgment
Ok, revisited the upper-arm armour and ended up somewhere totally different, but i didn't ruin it this time! Also spent waaaaay too long practicing sculpting small bits on the thigh armour, but I think that's all the armour done
#HobbyStreak day 410
Hah fair
Damn, I do like that take
You get Perception, but we keep Wisdom and replace Intelligence with Knowledge
There's a difference between, "can I figure this out" and "I know how to do this" that always felt like the point of Wis vs Int to me, but I think the term "Intelligence" is overloaded
Two upper-arm armour plates from a Knight Tyrant. The right plate has a hook-like device sculpted in green putty while the left is unadorned.
BEHOLD, the fruits of my labour!
Sigh.
Started on the upper-arm armour for #HobbyStreak day 409. Got the screen-right one blocked in and then got stuck in on the other... and then completely ruined it just as I thought I was getting it somewhere. So, scraped it clean and will try again tomorrow.
Congrats on the big THOUSAND!!! That's a huge achievement
Both shin guards from a Knight Tyrant with green putty swirls and tentacle-like designs. The right shin guard has a face with green putty modelled as if the face is pushing out of or through the armour
Back on the squiggles for #HobbyStreak day 408 and (probably) finishing the shin armour
Flawless bit, 10/10
Close up of a Knight Tyrant's legs, showing the crotch, featuring a daemonic head, and left leg armour, featuring a statue-like man's face
Giving the spirals a rest as I was inspired by some of the random bits now littering my desk from this project... Smile!
