AFRS is a subtype of chronic rhinosinusitis driven by allergic inflammation and often requires surgery and systemic steroids. For patients, this approval may represent an additional treatment option beyond repeat surgery and systemic steroids.

Sanofi - Regeneron has announced that Dupixent (dupilumab) has been approved in the U.S. for allergic fungal rhinosinusitis (AFRS) in adults and children ages 6+ with a history of sinonasal surgery. It is the first therapy specifically approved for this condition.

- Be on a strict peanut-free diet
- Have access to emergency medications (including epinephrine devices) & a current food allergy emergency action plan
