What do you do for work as a digital nomad?

Yes i have planned it actually! I unfortunately haven’t been able to because i still haven’t been making enough for me to feel comfortable enough to make the leap even to a country with a lower COL, because i also have to pay large student loans at the same time 🥲

Travel on a budget airline and buy a bag with the dimensions: 16.8*11*7 inch,

It will count as a personal item and you won’t have to pay for a carry on or checked bag. You can find specially designed ones that act like “luggage” online.

I feel like if you are an entrepreneur in any field you’ll be ok because you’ll be the one handing off the project to the client, but corporate workers are more expendable and teams can be downsized because of ai automation.

I’m just wondering i don’t want to freelance, I’d rather have a job

That’s really nice to hear! I actually really wanted to get into web development to begin with, but ended up switching my learning path after knowing so many people struggling to get a job.

That being said do you think that corporate job opportunities in web dev will shrink as AI develops? Or no

Not to be bleak just wondering if anyone has been thinking similar thoughts!

What are your thoughts on AI & offshoring as a digital nomad? Do you think it’s going to make it extremely hard to get remote work/gigs in the future?

I feel like the digital workspace is slowly dying out, and in the future might only leave space for entrepreneurs/business owners as digital nomads.

Sorry it’s been a while! Been super burnt out to be honest.

Prospecting for new clients 10 hours a day with no success yet is draining me.

I’m considering putting a pause on the #digitalnomad dream for now, as i am in some serious need of stability!

Any words of advice? I’m beyond exhausted. ✈️ 🗺️

This was one of the most critical moments of my life that made me realize how much better life feels when you let go, and go with the flow.

Was i pissed that i had to replace all my clothes and shoes? For sure. Was i going to let that ruin amazing opportunities and the rest of my trip? Hell no.

2023 POV: my big bag had been stolen the day before, all i had were the clothes on my back and my “valuables” small bag. I got to my hostel in Como, Italy. The owner was also a paraglide teacher & he asked if i wanted to go paraglide in the AM. I said yes, woke up in the same clothes as before, & ⬇️

Ya everyone I’ve talked to said it’s been really tough for them lately; it’s the constant need to search for new clients that really gets to me, i can never feel financially stable and safe to relax

Stumbled across this photo. 3,30€ for a cappuccino and cornetti in Catania, Sicily. I know the wages in Italy are different than the wages in the US, but it seems like they keep “little life pleasures” in Italy affordable for the community. In the USA this would have easily costed $12+.

Freelancing so far for me has been super chaotic and unstable, how are you all making this work? And how many clients do you have without going crazy? Haha
