That's how you know that Brazil is not an MLB team but apparently Minnesota still is.

If a player allegedly violates the rules and is subject to discipline, the union has to represent them for all the reasons Eugene stated, but they also have to protect the collective bargaining agreement by making sure the league adheres to it as it metes out discipline. (Management often doesn't.)
Great thread from Eugene, as always. As a union president, I can add that when a union represents one of its members, it's really defending the collective bargaining agreement. The league's authority to discipline a player, as well as penalties and appeals, are all negotiated in bargaining. 1/2
Combined, they're one 235.8 mph home run
I think you mean not YET
There definitely are some charters that are doing things (kind of) the right way, but they're in the minority. Many also provide a boutique educational experience by declining special ed students and English Language Learners, then brag about their wonderful test scores and low cost per pupil.
Yeah I'm familiar with them. It's like the skeeviest corporation except paid for by your taxes.
All of the above and then some.

I wrote state legislation that was passed in January to expose and curtail some of the grift.
An Indeed post that says Teaching in NYC No Teaching Experience Required for Success Academy Charter Schools
Of fucking course a charter school would advertise a teaching position with no experience required. What a grift.
Are you one of the people who gives one and two star Yelp reviews to nature?
That only works if you don't believe you can make an unforgivable mistake at that speed, which isn't true.
When I was in high school, I had an acquaintance whose dad was in the mob. He had this huge house with all kinds of crazy stuff inside, and for a while he was a minority owner of the Marlins. He used to brag that he had the third-most points on his license in NJ history, and his brother was #1.
Why would it make a difference? Seems more steady than going from job to job doing electrical work.

3-0 bunt from a power hitter with 1st/2nd no outs. Is Czechia managed by ARod?
The strongest Lou Whitaker vibes imaginable with him
Can't remember the last time the Rockies had a pitcher as good as tbd

I'm not excusing Profar's actions because he's a grown man in his 30s. But he was the NUMBER ONE prospect in baseball when he was 19, and probably already put himself in the HOF in his own mind. To get hurt and have a career that's so much less than that can really mess someone up psychologically.
