What video game moment lives rent-free in your mind? I'll start:
A painting of mythical monsters huddled together with smiles against a woodland background with the words "me and the queers finding community in dark times" overlaid
With so many Americans looking for closer-to-home destinations (and Canadians trying the avoid the U.S. altogether), there's never been a better time to discover Nova Scotia:

I wouldn't tell anyone if I won the lottery but there would be signs
Is it normal for a middle-aged man to climax while looking at a sailboat? Asking for a friend.
uh oh the King of the Hill reboot trailer looks real bad
Hereβs the bottom line for whatβs going on with Grok - if the owner of the website is putting his thumb on the scale hard enough for the chatbot to turn into Goebbels, you should be deeply concerned about what heβs doing to the algorithm that you canβt so easily see, and what itβs doing to you
lol this is the most nothingburger scaremongering I've seen in a while. The "danger" was a follower DM'd to say "oh, hey I'm on this beach too."

Tourism in Ireland is down, but North Americans are still going in droves.

My favourite Mariposa Folk Fest moments are when absolute legends act like shy little nobodies on stage. Ron Sexsmith did not disappoint in this regard:

Just saw someone cheering on a rise in meat prices, claiming itβs because theyβre a vegetarian and they think meat should be a luxury.
This is classist and (anti-indigenous) racist bullshit.
Eating meat is a part of a lot of indigenous peopleβs cultural practices.
Rising food prices kill people.
I'm always tickled when my main journo gig collides with my passions--in this case, Dad Rock

State department guidance is now up for transgender people who want to change their gender marker on their passports.
Your window opens NOW to make it happen, with some caveats: data will be collected on changes.
EITM was the first media outlet to report this breaking development for trans people.
I laughed at this harder than I should have. God dammit its hot in the GTA today
It is 1991. I am living through a Gulf War against Iraq that US leaders promise will bring lasting peace to the region.

Remember when character motivation was important? When plot points built up logically rather than being lazily glued together by contrivance?
Finally watched Juror #2. A decent thriller with believable, grounded stakes.
The fact that it was so critically acclaimed really drives home how low the standards are now for basic screenwriting quality.
I wanted to write an article, so I asked ChatGPT FUCKING NOTHING. I wrote a FUCKING ARTICLE ABOUT SOMETHING instead, my own GODDAMN SELF. I didn't reprint a stupid computer's REPLY HAZY, ASK AGAIN LATER bullshit and say "tut-tut, tsk-tsk" afterwards
Tribeca kicks off tonight and I watched a bunch of movies from it to find out what's worth your time. Lotta stinkers in the lineup, but these small films shouldn't be skipped: www.avclub.com/tribeca-2025...
What childhood movie do you love, despite knowing it's technically "bad"? I'll start
Update: my son has cheerfully proclaimed that Alaska is his new favourite movie and wants to watch it again
Whenever I travel I end up watching '90s live action family movies like Alaska and Fly Away Home. These are never "acclaimed"--sometimes downright derided by critics. But they're always a poignant reminder of the standard we once had for Hollywood writing that just doesn't exist anymore.
This week I am solo parenting with two kids under 9 years old on a cruise in Alaska. Was I overconfident making this decision? Yes. Do I regret my choices? Also yes.
Galaxy Quest is the correct answer, although I would also accept Toy Story.
Sidenote: is it weird that I think Tim Allen is extremely hot? He's got a certain "bigot Dad" energy I find irresistible.
I've been joking around with a TV series concept over the last year, but the more I think about it, the more I actually think it could work. What do I do now?
Unpopular opinion: Inside Out 2 might be "good" but it's not fun to watch
This might be my greatest joke (it's all downhill from here)
