Its a dream to be working in games and with the people that I do. Politics are always a part of games. If you choose to ignore it, that's okay, just be aware of how it affects the people that are a part of them.
It's been a tiring week. I'm going to rest and try to recharge.
I'm trying to being more visible to let others know I'm here to lend a hand. I'm so grateful to my game dev community who has my back and puts words to action. That's who we need right now. They create a safe space where I can be me and free to speak my mind. They help lift me up to be better.
Politics are messy and stupid and quite frankly depressing. Trying to be neutral is a nice thought but its harmful. Right now you need to pick a side. In this day and age I need to know who is here to back me up.
Friday evening thoughts, a recap:
I don't have the luxury to ignore politics anymore, politics will not ignore me. There are people out there, myself included who have targets painted on our back for just existing and can't ignore the politics that are coming for us.
To all my trans siblings I don’t know who needs to hear this but there are people who are here that love, care, and will fight with you.
There will be some dark times ahead, but we’ll get through this one day at a time.
I don’t know what I can do but I’m here to help.

There is nothing like setting up the bread maker the night before and waking up to freshly baked bread in the morning.
This doesn't get talked about enough...Failure in the indie space happens often, it just gets buried beneath the successful ones. Having insights like this video is incredibly eye opening. It's easier than ever to make games, but so much harder in many other ways.
