I may never catch up on my TBR, but no regrets!!
I'm very much looking forward to reading your books! βΊοΈ
The idea is so charming, that I went in hard, and pledged for all the Pride Street e-books, along with the six Bookshop Witch Paranormal Cozies e-books. I also added in the Panther Chronicles and the Witches of Portland e-books.
I mean, I saw books and said, "All of them!"
Check out @thorncoyle.bsky.social's post, where they talk about the Kickstarter Campaign and their books: bsky.app/profile/thor...
I just backed Bookish Baddies: Cozy Corgi Mysteries on @kickstarter.com www.kickstarter.com/projects/tho...
It very much will be. I miss my hobbies!
2/ Iβm ready, even if it means 7-10 days of being very limited in the immediate aftermath. Itβs worth it, to be able to go back to doing the things I love.
1/ 50 days until carpal tunnel release surgery - on both wrists. Itβs probably a little crazy to do both at once, but Iβm so ready to have my hands back. I miss sewing, and I miss sleeping through the night and not waking up with tingling, pain and/or numbness.
I used to be a diehard G2 user, but now I'm solidly a fountain pen only person.
Thanks! Being able to mark off prompts is like a mini-reward, so it keeps me reading :)
complex concepts and science in an approachable manner. Not once did I feel like I was in over my head. By the same token, however, I was fascinated by everything I was learning.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone curious about how we arrived at modern medicine.
developed surgical techniques are that are still in use today.
It's a fascinating look at how medical science advanced, and the way one man's ideology drove him to delve into the mysteries of the human brain. Schillace's writing was - as always - engaging, and she has a gift for sharing...
A 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge graphic for a fulfilled prompt. Prompt: # 39 - A Book That Cost You Nothing Book Title: Mr. Humble & Dr. Butcher: A Monkey's Head, the Pope's Neuroscientist, and the Quest to Transplant the Soul by Brandy Schillace The book cover dominates the right half of the graphic. OP has given this book 5 stars.
My final read for the month of February, and book 9 for 2026, was Mr. Humble & Dr. Butcher by @bschillace.brandyschillace.com. This was a fascinating book about Dr. Robert White, a neurosurgeon, scientist and researcher who greatly advanced our understanding of the human brain and..

Iβm coordinating with @vriess.bsky.social to add additional keywords/hashtags to the block list for the feed.
You're so very welcome! Before ordering from them myself, several people in my Discord server described nothing but positive experiences, so I felt very comfortable placing my own order.
I feel this so hard right now. Work has been just awful this last week. I want a new pen so badly right now AND have the budget for it, but I have so many pens already...
I ordered direct from Benu at the start of the tariffs going into effect, and my package arrived without a problem and way faster than I expected!
2/ All that to say, experimenting with different nibs/pens is huge. Not only to figure what you like in feedback, but what works for your specific tasks.
When sketching, Iβll use an EF, F or fude nib. For writing, I use whatever size nib matches need and paper.
1/ The scratchiness (feedback) of a nib is highly dependent on the nib itself. In my experience, Iβve gotten the most feedback using extra-fine (EF) and fine (F) nibs. This tends to be more emphasized with steel nibs, but some modern gold nibs will also provide feedback.
I very much appreciated this, and enjoyed the way the mystery unfolded. It came to a very satisfying conclusion, and I'm going to look forward to Valentin's other books (this was her debut novel).
A 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge graphic for a fulfilled prompt. Prompt: # 41 - A Guide to... Book Title: An Amateur Witch's Guide to Murder by K. Valentin The book cover dominates the right half of the graphic. OP has given this book 4 stars.
Yesterday, I finished An Amateur Witch's Guide to Murder by K. Valentin. This fulfilled prompt 41, "A Guide to..."
This was a fun, faster read for me with some interesting twists and a satisfying ending. There was some queer romance, but it didn't overtake the primary plotlines of the book.
2/ I personally take every opportunity I can to write with my fountain pens. Notes and to-do lists at work, solo/journaling RPGs, brainstorming for characters/plots... I keep a reading journal, and I've decided to keep a journal for TV series and movies I watch.
1/ Pen+Gear notebooks at Walmart, so long as the paper is produced in India or Vietnam, are excellent for fountain pens.
I also really love these B5 notebooks for my work notes and bullet journal: a.co/d/0dpiw03Pz
@vampireantihero.com just released their audiobook! Werewolves and vampires, queer rep, and magic. I devoured the e-book in just three days.
Not sure if it's available on hoopla or libby as yet, but had to drop the rec!

Just gonna drop this right here...

That would be a betrayal, and I would never!!
Only if you have the time to let the pages sit open and dry fully, but stone paper has been amazing for swatching and seeing ink properties.
A photo focusing on OP's lap, which is covered by a gray and aqua comforter. In OP's lap are two cats - one adult, male tabby, and a gray, female kitten with white socks and a belly. To OP's right, laying on an empty sofa cushion, is a brown and white cat. On the floor in front of OP is a dark brown and white cocker spaniel.
Three for the price of one, plus a dog... I called out of work, because I feel awful, and the animals are clingy. Hamilton (the tabby) and Harlow (gray kitten with socks) are on my lap. Maggie is to my right. Scarlett is laying on the floor. Not pictured is Honey - she's in a cat bed out of frame.
...difficult time warming up to the character. Of course, this lack of detail may have been entirely intended by the author, since Chaos is integral to the story. Giving the full back story could have applied too many rules to the world, and robbed the story of the frenetic energy it needed.
