i know a lot of my fellow liberals dont like to use that word. but im happy to use it when the shoe fits. these kids need to be protected, not attacked. going after them for craven political purposes -- any purpose -- is evil. and those who do so should burn in hell for all eternity.
I lack the words to capture it, but ... it's just endlessly remarkable to me that so many people in our society have chosen trans kis -- TRANS KIDS, the smallest, least significant, most vulnerable demographic slice you could possibly pick -- as a repository for all their fears & insecurities.

religious black voters may not be at the vanguard of lgbtq equality or abortion rights, but theyre voting for the candidates who make it happen - because those same candidates protect social security/medicare and (usually) keep in place the reforms of the civil rights movement.
the religious left, esp black voters, forms the base of the party in practically every state. without those voters there is no president bill clinton, barack obama, or joe biden. period.
the thing is those voters prioritize social justice over gop culture war issues.
both the msm and too many liberals ignore the fact that religious black voters, particularly regular churchgoing black women, are the core of the democratic party. without that demo, the democratic party literally ceases to exist.

All I can think about is Jeff Bezos saying that he slashed jobs at the Washington Post — including those of foreign correspondents in the Middle East — based on "the data," and a few weeks later a whole war breaks out in the Middle East that these laid off folks would have covered as true experts.
