βΊοΈ And thank YOU Jerry! β€οΈ
π€ Enjoying this mix for sure...
Let's go, Jerry! β€οΈ π€
You'd have heard these tunes on drugs, in The Saint or the Trocadero, and you'd only have a hazy memory of them the next morning. π± (Hope you're well - I've just been busy at my "other job" all week..) π
I'm tempted to say that it's like time traveling back to 1978 - even back then, unless someone had a proper reel-to-reel and lived on Fire Island, you'd almost never hear a really long mix like this one, and in perfect sound quality.
Not even one comment here (besides my own)? Thanks again Jerry for another long mix masterpiece! β€οΈ So many favorites in here, and some unknown tunes too.. hearing them in a new light..
Ich habe heute die neuen Zimmerpflanzen in euren alten KΓΌche gesehen!! π
Hahahaaa!! βΊοΈ
Oooh! Must download. I haven't been on Bluesky very often, must learn to check in more often! Hi Jerry π π
Must read what people are commenting here.. π€£
Haha, maybe you noticed that I've been playing it out a lot too? The song is not on the level of BeeGees or Rod Temperton maybe, but I find the weird chunks of maj/min basslines unusual. And the lyrics are perfect! I only really got into it about 4 or 5 yrs ago.. never heard it in NYC in 1990s!
I always wished that the mixdown could a bit less "squishy" (does that make sense? Haha). Just a bit more tight and shiny, although the warm, "tube amp gently overdriven" sound has a nostalgic mid 70s appeal too. Of course the lyrics and the bassline groove are unforgettable! β€οΈ
This whole album is a huge yes! π
One-hit wonder indeed! After all these years, I still haven't found any interesting information about the producer or even the singer. Who were they? Where and how did they record this tune? Etc! π€£
Waaah! Never heard this before, I love it!! β€οΈ
β€οΈ Wow, such nice words from a special someone (one of a handful of classic "foundation era" DJs!) who showed me back in 1993 how rich and amazing dance music can truly be. Thanks FK! But first, let me figure out how this Bluesky thing works.. π€£
