I think February is a time where it can be expected. I'd have to deep dive again into some groups that discuss this. But hang in there … Some also schedule their releases accordingly and use the down time to work on editing etc.

Notes only work for general ideas for me. With scenes, I need that little bit of extra time to let it flow onto the page, or it just feels stale when I go back to it. Hence, why I keep the idea alive by exploring it until I can write it. It's funny how these things have a life of their own.
Hmm … don't aim for perfection, but rather unleash the individuality you have to offer. Perfection is but an idea, a direction that should keep us going, a goal that keeps us reaching and exploring.
Just getting stuck in. Time's precious, and those creative ideas when they hit, don't wait around. If I can't write I'll spin the idea and let it play out so I can explore the nooks and crannies for when I can get pen to paper (ok fingers to keyboard).
Can't speak to other genres, but I've found it's an up and down over the years I've been on Amazon with my #erotica. I I'm a small author mind, so depending on how far your reach is, things could be different. And I've heard mention there might be periods in the year that generally see less sales …

Agreed. Seeing words are our main "tool" to convey the story, action and feeling … it's finding that balance. Repetition can make it bland. That is if it's not a character losing their mind and stammering and repeating themselves as bliss hits.
#erotica authors: what do you feel is your biggest writing technique to create that sizzling scene? This could be anything from word choice, build-up, rhythm, staging … what works for you and your audience best?

No, I didn't see it as snappy. I fully agree that somethings are more quantity driven, shallow or for a quick buck. I was more focussing on the grey area between "wow" and "meh" ;)
I wouldn't say "good and bad" but I do sense what works and what doesn't for me. I prefer character development over a quick "they got together and did it" story. But I know others love the later (more or just as much). We're all unique hence why we have the wide array of styles and approaches.
