The Medal can also be awarded to ESA members who have made a significant contribution to the operations of the Society.

Fundamental Ecology Award Closing May 31 The Ecological Society of Australia offers a postgraduate student research award in the field of fundamental ecology. The value of the award is $5,000 which can be directed towards any research that advances the science of ecology. The grant is open to any student who is enrolled in postgraduate research at an Australian university and is a member of the Ecological Society of Australia.

Forget the lower house, the game-changing shift could be Senate's tilt to the left The Coalition looks set to be reduced to 27 seats — two fewer than at any time since the Senate assumed its current size in 1984.

Labor won a landslide with barely a third of the vote. Now all eyes will move to the Senate, with a shift leftwards on the cards if the Coalition's disastrous lower house vote is anything to go by.

Drive it like you stole it, stop fucking around, deal with climate change, poverty, and deal with inequality to pay for it. Deal with industry transition, deal with education costs, accept that large investments in ourselves today pay for more than themselves in the future. And dental in Medicare
