Invest in seasoning: buy at ethnic groceries for lots in bulk. That way you can make ANYTHING tasty, and it'll last you year(s)

the broccoli, chicken, a tortilla and another thing is still really stupid though.
You still have to have enough money to get things in bulk to make it make sense, and time to soak and cook. So if you're not in the habit doing that, it's a tough transition.

I can craft really filling 1 or 2 dollar meals with ingredients that don't spoil or take a really long time to go bad.
Straight up meat is a treat I can stretch. Meanwhile I'm doing pretty good with egg, nuts, and beans.
