Also, whilst doing these and going through the original scans, I've come to appreciate how much Payne illustrated the scenery with a railway infrastructure. Like here where you can see fences in Thomas and Gordon. Or a visible superelevation in the image on the right - Thomas & the Breakdown Train.
Before and after of me doing colour adjustments to @sleeperagent1.bsky.social scans of his Thomas the Tank Engine copy that he shared on Twitter.
Congrats, Emily! π₯³
A small artwork I did of Spirit Train, which is based on my first ever concept of him being represented as a spectre/spirit of a Great Northern Railway A1 Class.
Premiering very soon! Today we'll be diving into the world of Thomas Minis, and drawing alternate livery variants for three engines!

"We continue to play. In this turn, I launch for the warrior."
My redraw of the still on the left from Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 1 produced by Toei Animation in 1998.

Something that is noticeable in this piece is how Thomas' running plate and the top edge of his side tank lean to one side. It does appear that Payne wanted to show rails with a cant .And, judging by the way the sleepers are drawn, the presence of the cant does explains Thomas' running plate.
Happy International Women's Day to every girl around the world! πΉ
Very nice!

A return of a well-known trio - Olive, Bluto and Popeye. Instead of modern designs and censorships on television, I chose to return to the 1930s of rubber-hose animation. The designs are based on Fleischer cartoons.
My deepest condolences, Nate...
Remember how these scans of Alexander Reginald Payne's work for Thomas' book that were shared on Thomas the Tank Engine (TTTE) Fandom Wikia looked originally? Well, now you can with these examples. :)
I'm sorry for your loss, Nate.
And now that I look at that one, it's interesting how both of these same angles match with Thomas. Thomas may appear sitting low here, but to get a good idea is to combine both scans into one.
Redid Vegeta's head and his hand with cartoon effects.

Time for the North Western Railway's flagship Express engine from Dovetail Games' upcoming Wonders of Sodor.

I decided to do that one frame from episode 157 of Dragon Ball Z of Vegeta encouraging Semi Perfect Cell to attack.
I'll be honest, I really need to stop posting my analytical posts with Thomas the Tank Engine's artist Alexander Reginald Payne and use them as my own art studies.
Today's video is premiering soon! This week I'm returning to the Matchbox Thomas range, and model some more characters for the hypothetical toyline:

A well-written story indeed and a nice change for Gordon's opinions on Diesels on the Mainland - like Sherman here. I really enjoyed reading it.
Happy birthday! π₯³ππ
Oooh! A recreation of Mr Alexander Reginald Payne's Thomas! Neato!
My small tribute to Mr Alexander Reginald Payne's first ever illustration for Thomas' introduction.

While we don't know the details, it's possible that it's Mr Payne's decision to add the frame plates. It's only after this one that he began drawing the frame plates solid.
Even though Mr Payne was suffering health issues during the hit of London Flu in 1946, we can see it clearly with Gordon - a lack and uneven spacing of his lagging boiler bands and missing solid bit of the frame plates. Fun fact, Gordon never had frame plates in Wilbert's sketches.
