The walk around Sheppey is strangely wonderful, as only an island in North Kent can be.
I did it over a couple of days last September with a bivvy on the beach at Shell Ness, starting and finishing at Swale Station, which truly does feel like the end of the earth!

As someone who does a certain amount of long runs and walks, and who works outside, I have had a lot of base layers over the years.
I have to say that, for all round versatility and comfort, Uniqlo is up there with the very best, but much more affordable and works well in a non-sport context.
