I was constantly reminded by my mom, teachers….adults-that I was a stereotype-teen mom w/no dad around, slept around, will get pregnant again & end up on drugs.

I did. You tell a kid enough they ain’t shit, they believe it.

My daughter’s teachers and doctors would speak to my mom instead of me.

I couldn’t drive yet! Had to rely on moms for yrs until I was old enough to get my drivers license.

Raising my daughter while my mom was still raising me was difficult, confusing, frustrating. I was bitchy, hard headed. Couldn’t tell me shit.

My HS counselor tried to convince my mom to send me to alternative school. They were afraid I would influence other girls to get pregnant (it was ‘95) 😂 My mom said fuck you, she will have whatever education she chooses.

put together an “about me” slide for a team mtg-ppl get weird when they realize I had my daughter @ 14-had to hustle & didn’t have to think about it until recently.
