I used to get a lot of funny looks for having a matching purple scooter to Lizzy’s and scooting to school with her! 😂 no point being a grown up if you can’t have fun!

*Morgan Freeman voice* they never did find that spine, flip flopped around for sure, but that spine remained forever out of reach…….

It’s been a while, but I’ve written article for Skrift this month! It’s a must read for anyone who’s ever wondered how debugging your feet after 20 hours of running is similar to web development 😃

Yay. Having grown up next to Greenham Common in the 80s, I now live close enough to Menwith Hill that I can once again look forward to the sweet knowledge that I’ll be instantly obliterated in the event of a nuclear exchange!

That came out great! Reminds me of when my daughter got told girls couldn’t paint, so we printed out a My Little Pony tactical pony and she painted it and came second in a painting competition! 😃

One of the few shows ever to 100% stick the landing. The last episode is surprisingly bleak for a US prime time show.

The vets have the zippy cat pencil case as a fallback. When our first cat had to have her first blood draw she went feral and ended up in the zippy bag. She was so unimpressed by this she held her paw out every time she went to the vets afterwards for her blood draws!

I’m old enough to remember the layer vs div wars and inline styling! I’m expecting younger developers to turn up outside my house and offer to duel me for my arcane knowledge anytime soon 😂

I’ve snowboarded down one of the deadliest ski runs in Europe and I wouldn’t even dare cycle in London. Did it once, never again. Leeds isn’t too bad, but other countries do cycling infrastructure so much better.

Missed a training run on Friday due to exhaustion after house renovation, so made up for it by turning today’s training plan 7km run into an impromptu 49.5km ultramarathon. Bit tired now mind you 😂 on the plus side, I’ve now finished the last 28 miles I didn’t get to do at the canal ultra last year!

For one of the players, it’s her first ever go at playing a TTRPG, and seeing how much fun she’s been having has bought me a great deal of joy 😃 after a couple of plot heavy mysteries, the next one is going to be a more fun geek one!

Genuinely having a blast running Brindlewood Bay for a group of friends. I love the collaborative approach to the story/plot, it means that a character, who seemed minor, but resonated with the players, has now become a major recurring villain 😃

That, and literally no one is surprised, apart from the main character, when it turns out Guy Pierce has been hanging out in the basement of the ship wearing the Miracle Max make-up from Princess Bride 😂 the whole movie made me sooo mad

Same here! Bad asthma as a child would probably have killed me before I was a teenager, and if that didn’t, the cancer I got at aged 29 definitely would have!

I think a LOT of founders, especially in tech, who make the same mistake in thinking they created things that were more a case of right place, right time.

Watching it with my daughter and she said “I wouldn’t do that Dad, it does NOT look safe” 😂 I’ve snowboarded down one of the deadliest slopes in Europe and you couldn’t pay me to do the teatray of death 😂

Great idea for a post apocalyptic novel though, historian travels the ruins of the world and reads the forbidden archives, learns all the sketchy stuff!

I think I need to resurrect that tradition! Lots of odd little sci-fi and horror films, crazy Japanese and Korean films, and other assorted oddities.

I remember when I was ill I’d host mad film nights, showcasing some of the weirder films in my collection (there’s a lot of those). It was a great opportunity to introduce folks to strange films and socialise when that was hard for me to do!

The rest is from when I had cancer and was too ill to leave the house, I bought a LOT of films that year. Every now and then I think I should get rid of some, but I realise that the vast majority of my collection isn’t on streaming. Or it’s spread over so many services as to be impractical.

Currently trying to clear our lounge ready to have new flooring. As part of that, I’ve had to clear the DVD shelves. I’d forgotten quite how many DVDs I’ve actually got (well over a 1500). Think the DVD scene from Hot Fuzz, but with more DVDs 😂 part of it is my latent hoarding genes!

Good luck! I got sent a while back when I had chest pains, turns out I had high blood pressure. Better safe than sorry, hope it turns out to be nothing serious.
