I am so deeply disappointed and disgusted with my state.
Both houses of the Iowa legislature just voted to remove gender identity as a protected class in Iowa law. The sponsors of this bill and anyone who voted for it are hateful bullies. The culture war that they use as a diversionary tactic while they rob us blind affects real people.

My 40 hour job serves women, refugees and immigrants. How unethical is it for me to just retreat inward when I get home. Just garden and knit and live? So many people are going through hell and I feel guilty. And I don’t know anyone with a lot of bandwidth right now.
Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

My kids all played several sports year round, did camps, other classes, band , Girl Scouts and had plenty of neighborhood friends. They had an exhausting amount of socialization. I didn’t know any homeschoolers who didn’t have a ton of social opportunities.
