cmd/compile: slow escape analysis in large package in the typescript compiler Β· Issue #72815 Β· golang/go Go version go version go1.24.1 linux/amd64 Output of go env in your module/workspace: AR='ar' CC='gcc' CGO_CFLAGS='-O2 -g' CGO_CPPFLAGS='' CGO_CXXFLAGS='-O2 -g' CGO_ENABLED='1' CGO_FFLAGS='-O2 -g' ...

TypeScript team: rewrites compiler in Go.

Go community: what do you mean your new compiler takes more than a minute to compile? Unacceptable. Dishonorable even. We are so sorry for this sub par experience. Not how we do things around here.

Two days later: WIP 5x speedup.

HN: why pick Go anyway?

I also noticed Claude Code is blazingly fast compared to Aider/Cursor. Very curious if Anthropic could be routing these requests on β€œpriority” to a better H/W rack for faster responses?

Asked cursor w Claude 3.7 to fix type issues in my Go code and it went on to fix unrelated TS errors on the front end instead.

Back to 3.5 for now.

After several years of having carb heavy breakfasts - I’m finally fixing that with adding more protein to start off the day!

A very small and early sneak peak of a side project I’m busy with these days: Log analytics app (powered by Clickhouse). Designed to be schemaless, fast and easy to scale.

Tonnes of more features in the pipeline and I’m really enjoying working on this.
