Join us on August 3rd to learn how to practice identifying whatβs working in a piece, what questions itβs asking, and what possibilities revision can open up. Through interactive lecture and guided prompts, weβll explore how to cultivate a more generous, self-aware approach to the revision process.

One week from tonight! Join Fleda Brown & @oomenam.bsky.social for an In Conversation. Both acclaimed poets and essayists, Fleda and Anne-Marie are also both teachers, Michganders, and friends. Registration is free for this virtual event!
Writing is fine. It's literally the most embarrassing thing on earth to put yourself on full display for rejection or validation, but it's fine. I enjoy it. I find it therapeutic to set myself on fire.
Our next In Conversation is on March 18 with @cynthiamhoffman.bsky.social & Sarah Kain Gutowski. Theyβll talk their respective collections as book-length βprojects,β how their own journeys with OCD/anxiety have impacted their work; and more.

So excited for this In Conversation event!
This order doesn't just ban trans people from the military. It states that this administration believes trans people lack "an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle" and that being trans "is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member."
Your regular reminder to tell the creators whose work you love that you love their work. Doesn't have to be a conversation, can just be "hey, you made a thing I love, thank you for it." It'll make their day, and probably yours too.
I had the chance to work with Poet Lore to pick some amazing poems! I really hope yβall enjoy my selections

I didn't know until now, but I absolutely do
The Trace My friendships with one or two, yes, three men for whom once I felt the wildest, most painful longing, still retain, in their enduring transformation, some fragrance of those times, like a box where once the leaves of an exotic herb were kept, an herb of varied properties, useful and dangerous, long since consumed.

This is the energy I need to see from our reps. More of this. Please.
An important note about bathrooms in the US Capitol: members have private bathrooms in their offices.
Members who are obsessed with where other people pee can use their own private bathroom.
Unconscionable and yet I'm sadly not surprised.
Thanks! And I will! It's almost like a yearly exercise at this point, lol.
Yep, me too. Because today is the day I needed a reminder that my panel was rejected π.
LOL. I wish I'd been able to come up with a clever response like that!
I had one who did that too, also for a memoir draft, but also said he'd be more interesting as an asexual man.
A screenshot of a laptop with a zoom conversation in progress. There are three squares: Poet Marcus Myers in a red shirt, host Lisa Allen in a black blouse & poet Rivka Clifton in black. Marcus & Lisa are listening to Rivka as she answers a question.
