Grammarly Is Facing a Class Action Lawsuit Over Its AI ‘Expert Review’ Feature
The feature, which Grammarly shut down Wednesday, presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academics—without their consent.
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Platner continues to show that it doesn't matter what you've done, believed, or continue to lie about. So long as you're incredulous enough when people call you out, you never have to back down. Pretty sure that's why white-run orgs like SURJ love him. He's shown them they never have to apologize.

How many lanes of traffic did that Waymo cross to turn left? Those girls were one inattentive oncoming driver away from getting Froggered all the way to a hospital.
Choose a different route, algorithm, or maybe turn RIGHT and then find a legal place to U-turn? Shortest route is not always best.

The thing that drives me nuts about people who talk about Platner being "deserving of redemption" is that Platner has never really acknowledged what he did wrong in the first place. Paths to forgiveness and redemption can and should exist. But like, you have to earnestly get that you messed up.

Image showing newspaper clippings talking about the change to DST = all about cash and golf.
At the top of the image, it says:
"6 MONTHS (1967) -> 7 MONTHS (1987) -> 8 MONTHS (2007)"
...indicating how many times DST has extended since 1974, back when they actually did pass to become permanent DST and was reversed due to all of the deaths that occurred during winter months because of the extra darkness during MORNING hours, which we need more light for.
They've been trying to manipulate us to believing Standard Time = more darkness because it takes place mostly during Winter months when sunlight levels are NATURALLY lower! It will be lower if it was permanent DST as well, but actually worse since sunrise won't happen til past 10am in many places!
The only way to avoid less light during "winter" months is by moving to the OPPOSITE hemisphere! If you live in the northern hemisphere and hate the short sunlight months, then move to the southern hemisphere for those months. Easy, right? Yeah, I know it's not feasible for most of us, but going to perma-DST is much more worse for our bodies than perma-Standard time!
The actual best thing to do is to shift everyone over to their proper time zones (many states are misaligned to their longitude meridian line, which further escalates the confusion of which time is best for our diurnal circadian rhythm) and stick with permanent STANDARD TIME!
FACTS ABOUT LINES OF LONGITUDE
- Are known as meridians.
- Run in a north-south direction.
- Measure distance east or west of the prime meridian.
- Are farthest apart at the Equator and meet at the poles.
- Cross the Equator at right angles.
- Lie in planes that pass through the Earth's axis.
- Are equal in length.
- Are halves of great circles.

Colorful infograph of the NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT (Canada/USA) and the best timezones per longitude meridian
On the left it states:
"A standard time zone is 15* of longitude wide, indicated with the grey vertical lines."
"This is a map showing what our time zones would look like if they were not adjusted for political boundaries."
LEFT side says "STANDARD TIME":
12am 3am 6am 9am 12pm 3pm 6pm 9pm 12am
RIGHT side shows "DAYLIGHT SAVING":
1am 4am 7am 10am 1pm 4pm 7pm 10pm 1am
BOTTOM shows months:
Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun
INSIDE the graphical image between the "LEFT", "RIGHT" and "BOTTOM" information up above displays when the earliest SUNRISE (top blue area), shortest Sunlight (winter solstice - depicted by the yellow/tan coloring in the center) & earliest SUNSET (bottom blue area) are.

They keep extending DST over the healthier Standard Time, as shown in the first image provided by @savestandard.bsky.social . Fix our time zones!
More info in the ALT text of each image.
Please educate yourself & follow science. Morning light is necessary for diurnal creatures such as humans.

What @merkley.senate.gov DOESN'T mention is that the U.S. Government enforced permanent DST back in 1974, which lasted only a few MONTHS before they had to do a FULL REVERSAL back to the annoying change we're still dealing with today!
They're too stubborn to admit that DST is horrible.

[HEADER: "UNITED STATES SENATE" | "Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley"]
"Dear [REDACTED NAME],
Thank you for contacting me to share your views about Daylight Saving Time. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.
As you may know, Daylight Saving Time has been observed in the United States on and off since 1918. While all but two states and the tropical U.S. territories currently observe the practice, federal law does not require states to observe Daylight Saving Time.
Under current federal law, states do not have the option of remaining on Daylight Saving Time all year, but in June 2019, the Oregon state legislature passed a bill to keep the state on Daylight Saving Time year round, as long as both California and Washington pass similar measures. The Washington state legislature passed a similar bill in May 2019, and the California state legislature passed a similar measure this year.
In the 118th Congress, the Senate passed the Sunshine Protection Act, which would allow states to remain on Daylight Saving Time all year. However, the bill did not get taken up by the House of Representatives. In January 2025 Senators Rick Scott (R-FL) and Patty Murray (D-WA) reintroduced the Sunshine Protection Act of 2025 (S.29). This legislation falls under the jurisdiction of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, of which I am not a member.
Please know that should legislation related to Daylight Saving Time come before the Senate for consideration, I will be sure to keep your views in mind. Thank you, again, for your input. I hope you will continue to send your thoughts my way.
All my best,
Jeffrey A. Merkley
United States Senator"

With the help of @savestandard.bsky.social , I asked to *DITCH* DST & instead got this lame "my staffers didn't read your message" response from my senator @merkley.senate.gov .
They'd rather push for their donors & golfing hobbies over the wellness & health of their working class constituents.

Ironically, actual Boomers seem to love iPhones more than other generations. It almost seems like more gen-x'ers are the nostalgic types for these payphones. That, or the younger gen-z/a's that never lived through this. I get that "ok boomer" is more catchy and meme-y than the latter, but still. 😒

Why is it always the same ol' pony show every year though? They keep going in circles every year hoping we'll forget (which unfortunately most do) and carry on as if nothing happened, forever entrapping us in this cycle?😒
Standard Time, please. Also fix all misaligned time zones across the country.

They're the politicians supposedly representing the people.
I dunno, maybe file articles of impeachment rather than whine to the camera like they always do? We need to place in laws to stop paying these mouthy politicians when they fail to do their jobs.
