accessibility without a doubt but there should be some consideration for neurodiverse gamers as collecting achievements is a hobby shared by many including myself. There are many games which have no effort in their lists and it's clear to see it's a afterthought, most AAA studios should have someone

Games like Celeste have assist mode which doesn't disable achievements but is premised by the developers that it's not the experience they intended but for some, that may be the only way to be able to play the game, getting the in-game accessibility right should take precedence over achievements...

can't play on the highest difficulty but if the game hasn't got that level of accessibility where that is possible, you are stopping people through no fault of their own from getting achievements, having just the one difficulty trophy also frees up more space in the list for fun/misc achievements.

...difficulty paywall thankfully seems to be on the decline, I also think that there shouldn't be multiple achievements for "completing the game on X difficulty" but just one for completing on a chosen difficulty, If the game has good accessibility then there isn't any reason why disabled players...

.. would see as easy to accomplish, i believe in a similar premise for games, gamers should be rewarded for completion of a challenge level that they set, if someone pays for a game, they should be able to play and get the same amount of content through the game, locking in game content behind a....

The point of reward systems in games is to give the player a positive for completing a challenge. This is a key part of the system and shouldn't be changed, however challenge is different for everyone, a ambulatory wheelchair user may need their chair for certain tasks that others...
