Oh, yeah, it's a whole thing! I can't take photos in here but there is a little marquee behind the cashiers tonight that says (scrolling) something like "supporting Outlink Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity." Charities are eligible to participate in casinos every few years and get a cut of the $
βI donβt know anyone with Long Covid!β
I promise you that you do.
Long Covid is an invisible illness. You wonβt know someone is impacted unless they choose to tell you.
Many folks hide their disabilities because the world is NOT kind to disabled people. Be an ally. Be someone we can confide in
Alberta's charitable casino model is fascinating. Like, do people who show up to gamble know what's happening with the money? Or do they have a "SURPRISE! You've been supporting GAY PEOPLE!" moment when they walk up to the cashier?
(and yes, I'm volunteering at a casino tonight.)

the president called trans americans dishonorable, messy, liars and iβm supposed to sleep and go to work tomorrow
Oh my gosh. I laughed. I cried. I smiled. Great length, too, for the amount of introspection (untangling sense of self from work) that really hit home.
Not to mention writing an agender/non-binary character so effortlessly, with more depth and personality than just their pronouns. Chef's kiss ππ»π³

I shed more than one happy tear. Anyone who's trying to find their "place" in the world can relate, no matter how old they are. Looking forward to reading the rest!
I feel a bit of comfort when I try to remind myself that what I make doesn't have to be "good." Like, it just has to "be."
