But really it's short and fast and worth it. I know some Drs will give you an Rx in advance for better pain control too, that's worth asking about.
I am on my third IUD, I absolutely love everything about it, except insertion. In my experience it is very sharp, intense pain for a very short time, and then some mild cramping like a period for the rest of the day. Ibuprofen before didn't help me; I just focus on deep breathing and relaxing. +
