I’d throw in Harlequin, Shakespeare, Rutland, Gardeners, Fat Cat and Kelham Island - some real corkers there
Some of my real old faves there - and there’s a few new kids in the block like Old Shoe..love the place
Some good pubs in Sheffield mind
Player in that Fulham side with the rare distinction of never losing a game for Saints and was one of only 15 Saints to ever win a John Player trophy medal
Mad isn’t it. 30 years
The start of a great rivalry

You’re within your rights
Did that a fair bit in the 80s. Remember watching a Wigan v Leeds game off the bridge!
I’ll go and look for mine from 1982
This little story has stirred quite a few memories on Facebook fan sites…happy days

Wonderful pub but DD always reminds me of the ‘only here for the beer’ ads in the 70s
Saints’ spine options- but Rowley keeping selection to himself

Superb in and out from him, great footwork
He got the ball and just bamboozled two defenders with footwork iirc
Remember that game - they showed it on Grandstand. Frank Feighan scored a cracking try IIRC
It’s a wonderful place - will definitely go back next time I’m down there
I loved listening to the chatter - and I’ll now associate the Kings Head with discussion on the early appearance of crocuses.
Ok - managed to get round 9 in Carlisle, top 4 would be Kings Head, Milbourne, Sportsman and then West Walls.
Last time I came to Carlisle was 1982…tidy little city, love it
Good place this, Kings Head Carlisle. In CAMRA GBG for last 20 years
Whistle stop run around Carlisle before I head back. Milbourne Arms. Decent tunes, great beer.
Yeah, apart from 5 mins at the start and five at the end the gulf really showed. Still I enjoyed seeing the reaction of all of those kids running in at the end. Old school…just in the Henry Bessemer in Workington listening to the chatter - hope the match stirred a bit of interest
Yes, remember that- and they were close in a couple more against Widnes
Yes, my dad used to talk about that 50s team…even in the mid /late 70s they had a formidable pack.
