If nudity in film was about comfort with the human body then we would see every part of the body equally. Until that happens it will never be about comfort with our bodies. i
It will always be about the exploitation of women

And I don't wanna hear one single goddamn bitch try "the human body is just a body and we should be comfortable with it" defense because this is not about comfort in the human body.
If an actress wants to bare it all, power to her. But if there's no fucking point to it, then it's just gross and exploitative and I hate it.
Even if it's not in a horror movie or even if the woman is not being attacked there's so much female nudity in films that does nothing for the plot and I'm so tired of women's bodies just being something to be exploited in films like this.
I'm tired of rape in movies for no goddamn reason other than a shocking excuse to show tits and make women struggle. I'm tired of nudity that does not contribute to the plot at all. I don't care what this sounds like, I am so exhausted seeing women's bodies constantly be exploited like this.
I don't even care if I sound like a prude anymore but I fucking hate erotic horror and erotic thrillers. I am so exhausted by women's bodies and women's sexuality being used to shock people and being used to make women suffer and being used as a way to make bad things happen to people in movies.
Respectfully, speed skaters have the most insanely impressive asses. 10/10
get the kid in the brown hoodie a scholarship
This is your regular reminder that in the year 2000, Paul Rudd, with frosted tips, appeared in the Hong Kong film GEN-Y COPS as a bad guy (kinda). In the movie, he does martial arts, fights a robot, and, most shocking of all, does an entire scene in Cantonese.
Crockett: "Now my colleagues want to be the protectors of girls & women. I didn't hear them screaming this when Renee Good was killed in the middle of the street by the same people the vast majority of you just voted to give more money to. It was a lot of crickets, including about the Esptein files"
Maybe I like Dan Brown cause his books are just nerds doing cool stuff. Finally getting around to reading Secret of Secrets and there's a whole subplot of this editor trying to protect a manuscript and it's my favorite part so far.
My favorite treadmill at my gym is right in front of a TV that's almost always playing Big Bang Theory when I'm there. I'll watch it while I run and I obviously can't hear it, so I've ended up with a real strange and spotty grasp of Big Bang lore.
There's an Italian restaurant in my town I don't go to often cause it's pricy, but damn is it good.
However, I've eaten there twice in the last year and both times I've spent the following morning in the bathroom, so maybe I just need to not go back again ๐ญ๐
I had the thought that King writes child characters in a way that doesn't annoy me, because normally kids in books piss me off. Now I'm realizing that's probably because King doesn't write the most realistic children characters. But thankfully, I don't read books for the realism.
To that end, I actually have a few anti ai memes saved and I send them whenever anyone tries to text me about ai. Wanna show me a gen ai image? Boom, have a little song about your brain not working. Want to show me 'proof' your ai had? Boop, here's a picture calling both you and the ai an idiot.
When I say 'bring back bullying' I mean this type of shit. I'm not one to make fun of people's looks or such, but if you use ai all the time I am going to mock you and exclude you from my social interactions. I simply don't feel the need to pretend like I respect people who use ai constantly.
A coworker and I were talking and she started a story with "so I was talking to my AI". Then, while we were fully making eye contact, I put on my big headphones and turned around cause fuck you if you think I'm listening to a story about anything an ai told you ๐ญ๐
I'm also very glad that Ben Richards is the "I'll kill for my wife" type of King character rather than the "I'll kill my bitch wife" kind. Men being so committed to their partners is always so nice to read.
Reading The Running Man because I watched both films in the last year. It's so King coded that it's hard to miss.
I'm trying to stay calm and optimistic buy I genuinely have no idea what I'm gonna do if my warranty won't cover the repair.
I was making a short trip out of town to buy a last minute Christmas gift on Christmas Eve and my car broke down and has been at a repair shop since then. I just found out today that it needs a new engine and it may take a few more weeks for all of it to get finished and repaired.
I'm so tired of having to do hard things, but miles to go before I sleep and all that bullshit. But today I'm getting a fun drink and checking out a local bookstore. It's about balance.
Medieval peasants didn't even know about putting on a little podcast to go to sleep :(
So, Ira Levin was a man. I've never had a reason to Google him and his books always gave very feminine energy to me so I assumed he was a woman. But I was listening to an episode of Book Cheat and they were using he/him pronouns so I had to search him up. I feel bamboozled. ๐ญ๐
In bed at 8:30 because I wanted to read my book but I know there's a significant chance of me dozing off and I didn't want to fall asleep on the couch. My sleep schedule is so ruined I fear it may never be normal again.
This is made more embarrassing by the fact that my perfect Langdon fancast isJohn Cusack
Need yall to know that one of the main reasons I haven't killed myself this year is because I refuse to die before Trump does. Idc what it takes, I'm outliving that bastard.
I say this with nothing but love in my heart. But. Robert Langdon is absolutely just Dan Brown writing AU fanfiction of himself, right?? Like, he's who Dan Brown would be in his perfect world, yes?? And I get it, because I am so catastrophically down bad for Robert Langdon that it's embarrassing.
I listen to a lot of fiction podcasts and I've noticed that a lot of them don't seem to know how to end the story so they end it on an unsatisfying cliff hanger or just stop making it. I have a long list with about 20 more I want to listen to, so I'm interested to see if this is a common issue.
