Happy to help ensure MissPiggy stays cool!
Yesterday Josh Dersch and Jason Perkins stopped by to do some fan maintenance on MissPiggy and power up the Nova-3. Thank you for your volunteer hours! icm.museum
Watching Adrian begin to scope the amount of work he's got going on that Lisa's I/O board reminds me of the job I had to do a few years back where it was easier to just strip that corner of the board, remove the failing masking and replace traces and sockets as per the schematic.
Ya it's strange! The elevator across the pedestrian bridge doesn't have CB. You might be on to something with proximity to a medical facility, perhaps it's for people riding the train to the sports medicine facility?
"Just use a cloud service! Running things in-house is so outmoded."
I should've been more clear: there's a UW medical center across the street:
I suppose it's near a medial facility - it's the Link station elevator at Husky Stadium!
@deviantollam.bsky.social thanks to your great talks I know what this jewel is for!
You might've ridden this elevator actually... and it's not in a hospital!
It is!
eBay biddings have arrived ๐คฉ
I don't. Looks like it says "Tray", a proto clipboard?
2 out of 3 ain't bad :) despite some issues with the disk controller in one Daybreak #vcfwest is going well!
It's an AST 486 pc, with a Genius MDS portrait display. It's running GlobalView - a port of Xerox ViewPoint to run on top of windows 3.1.
After some fussing, all my VCF West systems are cooperating ๐
lol with no cat it might break their equipment
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by David Greelish about my work. We discuss LisaGUI, our own experiences with the Lisa, and how UIs have changed over time.
Please give it a watch and share it!

If the plasticizers can leach out from a cable and "melt" the plastic it should would be nice to find a way to "soak" them back in!
I should have added - this system will be on display at @vcfederation.bsky.social VCF West this weekend!
Xerox definitely "rolled their own" when making their own hardware!
I bet the number is very small!
PS: this system is using the PC Emulation board you found for me. It works great!
It was fun figuring out how to recreate the palm tree ๐ด
The kinds of documents you can make on modern computers, like the Xerox Daybreak, are almost limitless!
It's another case of "why didn't they sell this!?!" They track a lot more naturally than a Mouse Systems / Sun mouse IMO.
They are for the Xerox optical mous, which tracks a white / black grid. They're printed on a 600dpi laser printer on normal paper, then glued to cardboard so they don't scoot around the desk.
The Xerox mouse is super interesting- the sensor is in a clear DIP package w/ a 4x4 sensor!
I need to bug maceffects about that bezel...
Getting prepped for @vcfederation.bsky.social VCF west. Printed up some nice mouse pads!
Getting ready for #radwoodpnw
I'm using @celgen.org 's method for making KeyTronic keyboard foams. Double stick truck bed topper tape, and Mylar. Omit the mounting circle, just double stick them to the key sliders!
Totally Normal.
