Yeah I think when you do commissions you basically HAVE to reign in negative talk about what you're trying to offer to people. Protecting yourself from overconfidence or judgement isn't worth genuinely diminishing something someone is paying you to do for them. ☆

A different (related) challenge I wanna do at some point is see if I can fill an entire sketchbook in a day/week, it sounds for experience and achievement. :>

Very much so! But also the effort, growth, and art process are all things I love extra now? Seeing people try things, not being 100% there yet, being atypical in their style, etc. AI is so so focused on "pretty product" that it removes the personal journey! Which, we can share in as viewers of art!

Honestly the rise in AI and the like, for me, kicked my mindset extra hard into appreciating art for not just being a pretty end-product, but for showing character, artistic journey, fun, and often unpolished unique edges artist almost always have on display.

I think gesture sketching was one of the biggest things that helped me in that area, aside from just sketching a ton. ;p I think tons of fast/rough sketches help a lot with developing and iterating on certain things for practice. c:

(I mostly think I lack polish and patience myself, haha! COUGH)
