FYI the library committee hearing on the preliminary budget has been moved from March 12 to March 18. I think you have to sign up anew if you signed up previously to testify in person or via zoom. docs.google.com/document/d/1... - I just signed up again but this time for March 18.

I've tried to make a vegetarian sloppy Joe with tvp, but it doesn't come out quite right.

When they did meet face to face there was a bit of minor tussling, but I'd clap my hands to break it up and then give them both treats. and they became snuggle buddies pretty quickly.

The promise to end the budget dance allows libraries to know that they would have stable funds SO THEY CAN PLAN OPERATIONS in a non-chaotic way.

The administration did not provide that in the prelim budget when it promised to do so.

What’s most disturbing to me re @mayor.nyc.gov’s failure to uphold the .05% allocation for libraries is that these are THE socialist institution, islands designed to secure everyone’s equal & free access to knowledge, tech & space otherwise monetized. They should be a socialist’s top priority.
