A few green croziers starting to push through in a brown crown of scales and old frond stipes.

Lovely.
And Ophioglossum azoricum. π±
π Orangy one looks like Rhizocarpon oederi, not sure about the pale one in the middle, looks almost lichenicolous.
Nice Stereocaulons. Guessing a metal rich rock.
Nice sized clumps π
Worth contacting the archivist and explain your making a special trip, and ask if it is possible to see material not on display.
It's definitely worth a visit. It has his measured drawings and paintings; life size work drawn from the birds brought in by locals. Very different to his engravings and commercial work and absolutely breathtaking. Every time I visit I get lost in the detail.

A delicate Trichomanes frond showing bell shaped involucria
Pinnules with immersed involucria and long trichomes.

A great #FernFriday today. Spent the day at the World Museum in Liverpool identifying our filmy ferns from #Honduras. #BritishPteridologicalSociety #EdgeHillUniversity
Two types of fern growing next to each other.
Hello #FernFriday
Beautiful π₯°
Least Adder's-tongue on the patch last month. Only grows in a small 2m square of turf on Guernsey. I didn't know exactly where this was before a passing botanist pointed me in the right direction. At about 2cm tall, no wonder I hadn't noticed them before.
Fantastic, I wonder where they are all heading?
Wow, looks like it's possibly a lichenicolous lichen. Nice spot. @britishlichensociety.org.uk
More likely to be an early hopeful male. Females tend to be swamped the moment they arrive.
Fantastic π₯°
Maidenhair Fern Adiantum capillus -veneris at its well-known site in Bath, curtaining one end of a canal tunnel, but now spreading to the outside wall at the other end and even to the wall of a nearby railway cutting. #FernFriday #FridayFerns #ahashtagwithFernsinit
A blue background with a mug of coffee and two books; on the left 'Michigan Ferns & Lycophytes' and right 'Ferns of New Zealand'.
Well it's a cold and wet #FernFriday, so time to sit down with some new books and explore distant lands... #Michigan #NewZealand #lycophytes
Walking through nature and discovering a place like this is fantastic.πΏπΏ
I've registered for this webinar "Taxonomy: What is it good for?" by @sandyknapp.bsky.social, the story of the mega-genus #Solanum. (Note that 12pm ET = 5pm (17:00h) GMT)
Here's a rather mini member of that mega-genus. π
Dark green once pinnate fronds against a dark grey wall with snow on top of the ferns.
Rustyback's (Asplenium ceterach) seem to be loving this snow!

Really enjoyed your talk, thank you.
I think it should survive, but I don't know for sure. It would be interesting to know how it fares.
One of the most beautiful things I have seen for some time. Frosted Hymenophyllum tunbrigense. Never seen this patch with frost before @sussexwildlife.bsky.social Eridge Rocks nr. Tunbridge Wells; named after this tiny disjunct population; more common in UK Atlantic woodland @bsbibotany.bsky.social
Great idea.
In the UK we have a Small Claims Court for low value redress; but yes, you could hand it over to a Debt Collection company if they don't settle within a reasonable time frame.
New site record of Hymenophyllum tunbrigense for Co. Louth (H31) growing in a rocky woodland on a minor hill. Happy to find this one today. A very scarce species in the county.
