god yeah thats kinda the wrst part about foraging is the sheer amount of pesticides everywhere 😭 i heard dandelion tea and jelly are really good! redbuds are kinda tart and similar to hibiscus

These redbuds were growing in my yard. The violet we'll be trying next are growing in my yard too! Some public lands allowing foraging and some cities like Asheville have foraging maps for anyone to use!

I think everyone should be encouraged to try wild food if they can find it, you don't have to eat meat to eat wild food fr fr berries are free

So long as you harvest responsibly (don't take too much or destroy the plant) then it's a good time and there's so much to try that's just in your yard!

Both jars of redbud after the lemon juice has been added. The hot water inside them is turning pink

Ok lemon juice received so I boiled water and added it to the jars and then put a tablespoon of lemon juice in each one. The lemon juice also causes a reaction that changes the color of the tea!

These will sit out for a couple hours to cool down then go to the fridge for 24hrs :)

Redbuds are in full bloom I'm.debating collecting them now and finishing them tomorrow or collecting Friday and finishing Saturday 🤔 we're making a "tea" overnight and then finishing the jelly the next day by boiling just the liquid w pectin and sugar and then doing a water bath

The kitty yogurt update is: chauncey took a couple of licks, seemed to get a brain freeze and now he won't touch it. Gertrude liked it enough and Gwen LOVED it which is surprising bc she's the kitty w the teeth issues

Its not at all! You can get a decent one for like $50, the steam wand tends to be really weak on them though. You can get pre ground espresso or a rly nice grinder, they need to be rly fine

A solid espresso machine is about the $150+ range and will have a better steamer normally just check reviews

I have a $20 coffee maker from Walmart and a cheap coffee grinder that's been great if you just want normal cream and sugar coffee, the cheaper espresso machines aren't the worrssstttt in the world if that's what you want though
