The fact that there are like 3 states of the union happening at the same time says all we need to know about the state of their union. May our neighbours to the south find better days ahead.

Water Is Wet, study finds.
Itβs not a riot. Here in Canada, weβre so incredibly sad for you and for what it means for our best friends to have their lives and our historic relationship unilaterally devastated over the course of just a few months.
It's real. And it's literally what Roman emperors did to placate and distract the populace from squalor and corruption. www.fox10phoenix.com/news/trump-f...
If government power ever gets wrested from Trump, I wonder if successive administrations will leave untouched everything he erects - the ballroom, the Trump-Kennedy Center, the presidential plaque screeds - to serve as a collection of national "never again" monuments so Americans never forget?
In Canada, we're rightfully trying to illiegalize stop and frisk as a violation of rights. Meanwhile in the U.S...
Canadian here. Can also confirm.
@meidastouch.com I unfollowed the @meidastouch.com podcast today. The title of their episode was "MAGA Mike Caught on Hot Mic Trashing Trump for Shutdown." In the episode, that's not what happened at all. He didn't oppose Dean, but he didn't "trash" Trump either. We need honest journalism rn.
I would subscribe to this podcast.
Hey USA, Canadian here. Um... that kind of rhetoric is not disqualifying for a TV channel? Maybe... consider it? Ya'll talk about your "polarization" problems and you let a TV host suggest killing citizens?
As a Canadian looking on, I'd say the greatest trick the Trump administration pulled on Americans was to convince them that "woke" speech impinged on their freedoms, but soldiers with guns in their cities liberated them.
βThank you for your attention to this matter.β
The number of leopard-eating-face stories in the news right now is staggering. βHeβs gone to far!β Sigh.
Happy birthday to the United States. I'm looking forward to when you can once again return to being the aspirational goal that you once were. May your "cautionary tale" era be fleeting and minimal as you come to your senses and make the reforms you need so you can be the neighbours you claim to be.
Oh America. Youβre about to find out, and your neighbours are so sad for you. #biguglybill
Congratulations to the United States on your new king with supreme monarchical powers. #scotus
Clearly AI. This is 2025 and we need to stop believing that video is real now.
I donβt know what world Iβm living in anymore where major powers East or West can simply attack or invade sovereign countries with a pretense that contains some justification and just about everyone in media and international government is okay with it. Is this what weβre doing now?
I've been watching the live coverage on YouTube tonight, moving back and forth between CBC, Al-Jazeera, ABC, NBC, PBS. Only non-American networks mention the illegality of the strikes on Iran. Why are American networks choosing to ignore this completely?
Canadian here. Hey so... how do they bomb Iran without the approval of the Congress...? Asking for a friend.
As a Canadian, I would like to say to my American neighbors that your lack of participation, attendance, and enthusiasm in todayβs dictator parade was exceptionally encouraging.
As a Canadian I actually expect this βGolden Domeβ to become another pretense for talk of annexation. #elbowsup
In a global economy made up of primarily two sectorsβfinancial/services and manufacturingβthe United States dominated the former entirely. Along comes Trump, reaches for the latter, and the U.S. loses prospects of both. Hubris on a scale of Aesopβs cautionary tale.
Don't forget how it bans states from regulating AI... brought to you by the party that touts "state rights."
I hate to be that guy, but can seagulls distinguish between white and black smoke :P
This is what the start of an economic collapse looks like.

I love that on the morning of a Liberal victory, those of us who voted that way are not tapdancing to a tune of now βowning the Consβ in the months to come. The way to convince and be convincing for CPC voters is to solve their problems and get them the services they need as much as everyone else.
Many of the very worst people I've ever known - some of my closest family among them - were the people who "spent the most time in prayer" when I was growing up in a church setting. I'm convinced that much of what is called "prayer" is self-affirming confirmation bias.
It's time to vote, Canada! Feeling split? Here's how to think about voting as a Canadian - in my part of the world in New Brunswick... and beyond. #nbpoli #CanadaElection2025 www.facebook.com/share/v/15nt...
On a day when Trump's second term brings markets down to historic lows, his first term comes back for a visit when his conservative-majority SCOTUS rules that it's okay to detain citizens without judicial review. (In case you think voting doesn't matter or that democracy isn't fragile.)
