This is troubling: Meta developed an AI that would be able to impersonate people based on images, posting style, and video footage.
Sounds nuts, but this could be used to impersonate people killed and nobody would be the wiser, right?

The fabric of our supposed resilience as a democratic republic is the distribution of power. We tend to focus on the three federal pillars, but the states have a role in constraining Fed power.
#GOP has leveraged that forever. Now that they hold the D, they must counter it every possible way.

The rapid expansion of American-owned data centres in the Middle East has opened up a new front for Iranβs retaliation against the US, complicating Gulf ambitions to build multibillion-dollar AI facilities in the region.
Drone strikes on Amazon Web Services facilities this week in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain highlight the vulnerability of cloud facilities β prominent symbols of US tech power in the region and hard to defend against air attack.
Fars News Agency, an outlet affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said on Thursday that Iran targeted Amazon and Microsoft facilities in recent drone strikes.
Experts say Amazonβs facilities were likely targeted by Iran. Microsoft said it had not experienced any outages in the region.
The strikes mark what is believed to be the worldβs first military attack against the US βhyperβ¦

You are stoking division. Whining about DST is evidence of the Cult of I and entitlement of people incapable of keeping a republic.
This is a non issue, and there are many greater concerns.
People, stop moaning. DST is an effective solution to maximize daylight during the hours we're active.

Been sayin' for a while we're poisoning our hearts and minds with "entertainment" made from depravity.
For any who think TV and video games don't have that effect, you may ask yourself why there are more ads per hour every day...
Marketing works, it's working, and we're losing all we had to this.

Trump cut off supplies of Sidewinder missiles for Ukraineβs F-16s, which limited their ability to prevent Russian strikes on Ukraineβs cities during the dead of winter when Putin ramped up attacks. And yet, when we need help with interceptor drones for Iran, Ukraine offered them without hesitation.

Let this sink in.
Four years ago, the US expected Ukraine to fall within days and even withheld military aid because they thought itβd be wasted. Today, the US β the most powerful nation on earth β is asking Ukraine for military aid.
Never underestimate Ukraine. Arm them to win.

Given how @kare11.bsky.social continues showing opinion polls as benchmarks of right and wrong, it seems that we should discard or neglect the R and D groups, and consider only the I group as the "least biased", if not entirely objective, measure of overall community opinion.
Doncha think?

Watch Tim Walz school the worst of the worst GOP bigots
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison testified before the House Oversight Committee Wednesday, where GOP Reps. James Comer of Kentucky and Nancy Mace of South Carolina failed ...
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz told House Republicans their fraud claims didnβt hold upβat one point reminding Rep. James Comer that Minnesotaβs Medicaid error rate is lower than Kentuckyβs.
The hearing didnβt quite go the way they planned.

Zero desire to navigate your marketing obstacle course.
Pro tip: It's not "free" when you demand information for it. We all know the value of our data now, don't we? Companies will literally kill for it.
Maybe try actually free, and if people like it they'll register, and pay, for more.

@kare11.bsky.social is repeatedly popping polls up on screen now, as though right and wrong, are good and evil are opinions.
They've completely lost the thread of democracy.
Lots of folks think slavery is not only fine, but our natural order, Jason Hackett.
Democracy isn't an opinion.

Corporate Media Buries Story of US and Israel Killing 168 in Girls School Attack
No front-page stories in NYT, WSJ, WaPo. No mention on NBC and CBS Sunday Shows. No stand alone segments on Evening News shows. A death count on par with the OKC bombing is relegated to the back page.
I wrote about how the US and Israel carried out an attack on an Iranian girls school on par with the OKC bombing and US media relegated it to a back page story. No stand alone evening news segments, no front page stories, it made A11 in the NYT then everyone moved on.
