Sally's work involved using collagen peptide analysis to identify whale bone fragments, with other biochemical analysis then used to study the past diets and ecological niches of these ocean giants.

We have been back out this week sampling the protective markings applied in 2023 to help us understand the longevity of the markers. Thanks to Historic England and RCE for funding this project. Thanks also to Hampshire Police who visited us and checked all the relevant permissions were in place.

We can honestly say this is the best First Aid course we have ever attended as Ken was able to share his knowledge of first aid and relate it to the world of archaeology and the marine environment too.

Ken is a marine geophysicist at MSDS Marine but also volunteers for the East of England Ambulance Service and is a First Aid at Work instructor.
