I wish I could've gotten more into Dragon Quest Builders when I played it but unfortunately it made the mistake of not containing Pokémon and thankfully Pokopia doesn't have this problem because Pokémon are here

For reference I have been playing it since I made the original tweet
Uh-oh I have a new addiction
They should have announced this in a Nintendo Direct as the “one more thing”.

I can feel Marvel Rivals' grip on me loosening, they released a new Psylocke skin and I have no interest in buying it

I highly recommend it, even as one's first game in the series. It's an amazing time overall. Really hope this one gets a ton of DLC because I want more excuses to come back to it.
Overall.... I mean, I did four playthroughs of this game and got all the achievements in it within a week. I think I like this game at least a little bit. This is the first Resident Evil game I've gotten to play at launch and I'm so happy it was one I fell in love with this hard.
I understand some people's frustrations and dissatisfaction with portions of it but I really loved it personally. It's gripping the whole way through and Grace and Leon are such compelling characters to follow through it.
He is so much fun. Pure fun. I love both gameplay styles so much.
Won't talk about the story much but I did enjoy it a lot. I feel like since Village the stories in these games have been so great. Much like that game I was very invested in the story of this one.
He is capable of so much in combat but this means nothing if you're in over your head and run out of ammo or let yourself get overwhelmed by enemies. The whole game is about strategy but these segments are very much about strategy on the fly rather than planning ahead of time.
Leon's segments are not scary whatsoever, but neither is RE4 for the most part. The fear factor in Leon's segments is purely based on resource management and crowd control. Going from Grace to Leon makes you feel so powerful yet the game never feels easy when playing as him.
In terms of Leon's gameplay. Well. It's just Resident Evil 4-2. Everything I love about Resident Evil 4 and its remake is present in Leon's gameplay. Compared to Grace, Leon feels like an entirely different game while still matching this game's tone perfectly.
In general I think Grace is so fun to play as because if you're scared she's definitely scared. Whenever you make a decision it feels like she's making one and it made me very immersed in her segments. She's also just a great character in general.
I love the Requiem mechanic so much. You might think having an ultra powerful revolver that can one shot most regular enemies would make the game not scary, but ammo for it is extremely rare and making the decision of when to use it is vital. You can't just use it on everything.
Grace's gameplay somehow feels just as scary if not more than Resident Evil 7. The audio design in her segments is fantastic and create a never-ending feeling of anxiety. Ammo and resources are scarce and it was a puzzle in itself figuring out when to use them.
Initially I did play the opening hotel segment as Grace in third person just because I wanted to see how it was, but by the end of the segment I switched over to first person. I'm really glad I did because I totally see the vision they were going for here.
As a fan of both gameplay styles I was very excited for this one while also wondering if either would feel like a full game on their own or if they would both feel compromised. Thankfully the answer was the former. Both styles shine so well here.
This game perfectly combines the first person gameplay of Resident Evil 7 and 8 with the over the shoulder third person gameplay of the remakes of 2, 3, and 4. It feels like two completely different games while also feeling like one massive experience.
Yesterday I completed Resident Evil Requiem.
This is a phenomenal game that everyone should play. I've felt this way about the past couple games in this series, but this one especially. Easily one of the best games in the Resident Evil franchise and games in general this year.

Also, apparently Shulk Xenoblade (Adam Howden) was in this game and I just didn't realize it until watching the credits. So that's pretty cool. Just felt like I should mention that.
Overall, I really loved this game. I don't think I love it quite as much as this team's other game that I've played, Furi, but it's definitely up there for me. It's definitely one of the best indie games I've played in recent memory.
I also didn't really understand how the piton breaking system worked as even when I would nail the QTE to drill them into the wall sometimes I'd get less back later. I guess they just wear out over time? Either way you can fix them so this isn't a big deal.
In general throughout the game I feel like there were some mechanics that didn't really click for me until way late into the game. Pressing triangle to regain stamina on a wall didn't really make much sense to me for most of the game and I'm still not really sure how it works.
They didn't necessarily ruin the game for me as again I think this is intentional but I definitely enjoyed the rest of the game way more. I see what they were going for though and I think it's done well.
