As a kid, I never quite understood how brother turned against brother in the American Civil War. Seeing my dad's unwavering refusal to believe the violence happening in the US now provides the perspective I lacked as a kid.

Sad to learn this week that UNIVAF’s historical public health data archives were deleted earlier this year. It was the one and only data project I’ve ever been involved with that I felt proud of how we wrapped it up and shut it down. 😞
