FOSDEM 2025 - Row-Level Security sucks. Can we make it usable? Row-Level Security (RLS) in PostgreSQL is awesome, as it allows you to isolate each user or tenant's data, lock it down and default to "deny access"... but it sucks because it makes assumptions about…

Great talk out of FOSDEM on plus and minus of Postgres + RLS

I’m an American in Canada and I know Americans won’t care about Canada. But Canadians are changing travel plans and avoiding buying American. This feels different.

The NAFTA change was unnecessary but weathered. These tariffs are stupid and I wonder about a future America with few friends

Gonna segment out the Neon Changelog from docs search results into another tab. Getting too much noise in our docs search.

it'll show up as another tab, like GitHub. WDYT?

pro tip on aging from a physio

always stand and balance while putting on pants, socks, and shoes.

balance gets worse as you age because you aren't running around like a kid testing it. stressing your balance at least once a day is a good habit

New regions for Neon in Q1 are locked in:

- London
- SΓ£o Paulo

London is very well requested.

If you’re a Brazilian dev please reach out to us. We’d love to sponsor meetups and get better connected. We are making a bet in this and want it to work out.

There was a good demo of AI being trained for a certain task. It looked like a conversation where a person keeps steering back to the topic they wanted to discuss. Can’t find it right now…

planning out some new regions for neon in Q1

what do you want to see?

21.11.2024 18:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Database indexes are classically a pre-optimization.

Mostly created along with the tables, based off some assumptions of how the table will be queried. But the good indexes are derived from query patterns, not schema design.
