Gorgeous work as always, that chipping looks particularly good on infantry
@edpaintskrieg
I love painting and playing Warhammer. Horus Heresy, Fantasy Battles, MESBG, Kill Team, Aeronautica, Necromunda, 40K. He/Him/They. Warhammer is for Everyone. Backdrop books used in my model photos are from Handiwork Games.
Gorgeous work as always, that chipping looks particularly good on infantry
Sticker of a soot-blasted gunner in a red slashed-sleeve tunic with a cuirass, and a big thumbs up, with three artillery dice representing 30 shots with a Hellblaster volley gun.
I've not yet built my Hellblaster but I prayed to my sticker before firing my Dwarf Organ Gun and got two misfires. Not good for an Organ Gun but bodes well for the Hellblaster...
Really nice work! I know what you mean about the scheme, so simple but works perfectly at that scale. A fantastic effect.
Would be great to see, I'm just undercoating my second P&S regiment today.
Really nice paintjob there, I'm just starting out on this boxed set so would be interested to see it all laid out, it's a bit daunting at this early stage!
Cheers Andrew, it was fun to do and looking forward to diving into the rest of the unit this evening.
Haha it's great to come across bloggers on here, I'm finding a lot more on Bluesky than I did on Twitter which I tried for a few years.
Looking forward to seeing more. I was happy to see your name ping up, I think I used to follow you in my days on the blogosphere from the dim and distant past! I had the Palladian Guard blog back then.
Thank you! Yes it'll be on a snowy, forestry basing scheme as well (for the ones not on ship deck bases) so hoping that will tie it in as well.
A classic metal Empire archer, with a green tunic and white hose and shirt.
First Empire archer is complete. Had to think for a long time to come up with colours that a) I like and b) aren't already associated with a too-well-known city or province. These will be ship's crew for the Maria Rosa galleon.
As always, the Simpsons predicted it first.
Excellent work Chris! Love to see a good Cultists army and this is fantastic.
This is a great idea! I'm going to borrow this idea if that's okay, come up with a one page sheet for each of my armies.
Happy birthday Jess!
Ten Renegade Guardsmen, in khaki fatigues and ragtag grey armour. They all carry lasguns.
One trooper stands with lasgun levelled, firing from the hip.
Another advances cautiously.
A third prepares to fire, also holding a knife in one hand.
The first unit completed from the Red Corsairs isn't even a Space Marine unit - I took the chance to round out my Horus Heresy Militia with another squad of 10. That gives me two squads of 20 Expendable troops to throw into the meat grinder when I'm playing Iron Warriors.
Now that would be excellent! Some lovely sculpts in that lot. We can but hope...
As soon as the Mordians come up, I'm going to go absolutely mad! They were the original models that first got me into the hobby.
Haha nice! And I jumped straight down another slippery slope yesterday and ordered the Amon Hen terrain set... start the 180 day timer again! Looking forward to seeing yours when they do arrive.
Now that's an army I would like to paint! Nicely done sir
I thought of Guard straight away too, but unfortunately the limit is 2 (or 4 for Battleline) in a 1,000pt game. I've run all-Guard squad lists in friendly games though and got 150 Krieg troopers on the table!
But you will be remembered! Tales of your deeds will resound down the ages, and songs of your victories will fill the ears of the generations that follow! (This is how I console myself when my Platoon Command Squads are swept off the board with a casual sweep of the hand)
Haha! I didn't even notice, it was so many models ago... such a fun model. Haven't used it in a game (yet) though
bsky.app/profile/edpa... That's one model I did manage to find on eBay for a non-ridiculous price when I was doing my Hochland army!
Both very fine choices, but Hochland in particular are very close to my heart as an army I wanted to do many years ago, and only got the chance last year.
Wow, that's absolutely breathtaking! Just picking back through these blog posts, some amazing work there. And Battlefleet Gothic as well! These are gorgeous mate, I can't wait to see the new stuff when it takes its place in the ranks.
What have you got planned for them, decided on an army? Or is it to add to an existing force?
Haha I've also just seen this after going through exactly the same process! Again, really good job on them. I restricted myself to using non-chaos heads, shoulder pads, and backpacks which does the job.
Oh these are really cool! I wish I'd seen this earlier, I built a box a few days ago and it took me three or four models to build up the confidence to do this. Very nice work.
Unheroic but very wise! Mrs Krieg said something like "why wouldn't I just sit at the back with my archers and shoot Frodo?" And I don't really have an answer! I've kept him fairly well hidden for that reason...
Haha! I've certainly got myself in for a very long run of painting before I can do that final army shot...
