I couldn't find a tool to plot different #neuroimaging data in one consistent style, so I made one! Meet yabplot (yet another brain plot) - a #Python package for (sub)cortex & tracts.🧠
- Simple API
- Built-in atlases
- Custom atlas support

Nine subcortical/cerebellar atlases included in the subcortex_visualization Python package (and subcortexVisualizationR package in R). The atlases are depicted in two-dimensional vector graphic format.
The extended version of my thesis procrastination project/subcortex visualization package is out now in both Python and R, now that I’ve graduated 🤠 This figure shows the 9 atlases included (and counting)!

BOLD signal changes can oppose oxygen metabolism across the human cortex, Nature Neuroscience
fMRI signals “up,” but neural metabolism might be going “down.”
In our @natneuro.nature.com paper, we demonstrate that about 40% of voxels with robust BOLD responses exhibit opposite oxygen metabolism, revealing two distinct hemodynamic modes.

This new ERC study uses an overlapping set of human 🧠 donors as our just dropped locus coeruleus preprint. Availability of data from both regions in the same donor facilitates our current efforts to analyze molecular signaling across the circuit, which is highly vulnerable in Alzheimer's disease.

Academic mentoring across generations: earlier this week, I heard my mentor commenting on writing and how to convey findings clearly, and realized that I now mentor in the exact same way. When my student received compliments for clarity in writing from a co-author, I was immensely proud & grateful.
