If Gorton and Denton ends up Reform 30/Labour 29/Green 28, and Starmer doesn't then introduce some form of proportionality or even French-style two-round FPTP, then honestly the UK probably fucking deserves a Reform government.

Photo taken at Ebbw Vale Owl Sanctuary The Spotted Eagle Owl (Bubo africanus) is a medium-to-large, sturdy, and well-camouflaged owl commonly found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is characterized by its dramatic yellow eyes, upright, "horned" appearance, and speckled plumage.

Photo taken at Aust Warth Salt Marsh - Severn Bridge A short-eared owl is a medium-sized bird, roughly the size of a crow or small gull, often seen hunting during the day over open fields, marshes, and coastal areas. Its appearance is defined by a mottled, sandy-yellow and brown body, which helps it blend in with dry grass. Distinctive Face: They have a pale, whitish facial disc with bright, intense yellow eyes that are famously surrounded by black, kohl-like rims, giving them a fierce, staring expression. The "Ears": The "ears" (or ear tufts) are actually tiny, very short, and often hidden against their head, making them difficult to spot. Flight and Body: They have long, rounded wings with dark, comma-shaped marks near the wrist (on the underside) and a buff-coloured, streaked chest. They fly with a slow, buoyant, and silent, moth-like wingbeat, often held in a slight 'V' shape (dihedral). Behaviour: Unlike many owls, they are commonly active during the day (especially dawn and dusk), often seen perching on the ground in rough grassland or flying low over the ground while hunting for voles.

I wonder what stupid name they'll give HS2 when it opens.
Incorrectly plated, should only have one identity.

Status has dropped back to the more generic message now.
They're still in the pipeline, at least, it seems.
Looking forward to it (no insider knowledge) but I added the new stations to the signalling control workstation nearly two years ago now!
Ooh, www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/pin... has a 19th March opening date! Other two still just say βduring 2026β
Although, I'm going to use it as an excuse to learn GraphQL and OData, as those are the two APIs I'd like to mush together to transfer data...
What should have been a 10 minute activity in a GUI (or even automated with Copilot) is going to be a much longer one in Python (and maybe still Copilot...)
No, of course not. IT had screwed down Data Loss Prevention configuration far enough that Power Automate could only talk to other Microsoft 365 apps, and disabled all third party integrations, and nobody had thought to enable the Microsoft GitLab integration to connect to the internal server...
Needed to transfer and transform some data between internal systems at work. Oh, that'll be easy, I'll use the Microsoft Power Automate thing they keep pushing on us to use to create a quick pipeline. There's surely connections available for internal service APIs...
Turned on the Radio 4 news bulletin for an update this morning and immediately turned it off as the report was essentially government pushing for this, opposition parties complaining its not happening fast enough. I despair.
Cover illustration for the board game Birdwatcher. A pair of Blue Birds-of-Paradise are here courting among tropical foliage. The male hangs upside down above the female, flaring out his breast and flank feathers and waving two long ribbon-like tail plumes while she assesses his display.

Photo of the described owl art. It looks like muddy scratch marks on a mottled brown cave wall. The head is very round with two upright lines for ears and a line in the center for a beak. Numerous parallel lines suggest plumage on the wings.
The oldest known image of an owl:
More than 30,000 years ago, someone skillfully scratched the figure of a long-eared owl (Asio otus) into the soft outer layer of the walls of Chauvet Cave, France. The owl is looking backward over their wings, head turned 180 degrees

A late entry but there was only ever one #SuperbOwl for me, and that's the one I drew with the White Rose of Yorkshire for Leeds Neville Hill depot, and which was cast and mounted to the side of Class 91 locomotive 91127 "Neville Hill". Suberb. Owl.

A great horned owl plays in some tall grass growing amongst gravel. His plumicorns are raised and his yellow eyes stare forward. This is a non-releasable owl that cannot survive in the wild, and is possessed and handled with all appropriate training and permits.
Sorry, I will never not participate in SuperbOwl πͺΆ day:
