This maybe wouldn't matter if tv news and newspapers didn't matter. But they carry an enormously outsized influence on political elites, who are now hearing the mouthpieces of the elderly as if they're the voices of the nation. It's a disastrous situation.
Someone needs to tell this to #BBCLauraK who seems to think this is the prelude to a democratic Iran.
Maybe Polanski provides a nerdiness and everyman vibe that works well with millennials and gen X, who are fed up of power posing boomers and early gen Xers who have enforced the perma-crisis on us.
