Seems to me one of the problems here is that in our car-centric society, not giving someone a driver’s license or taking it away is practically house arrest. So we set and enforce low standards for driving skill.

Curious. University press, seems to have won some awards? Maybe not much editor involvement?

I actually have a soft spot for a boiled dog that has puffed up a bit? With appropriate toppings, of course. Toast = desperation

Pockets Warhol, abstract painter and capuchin monkey, has passed away, just shy of his 34th birthday,
I’m eternally grateful for the artwork he made me. Titled β€œNo Borders in Space” by the staff at Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary.
Find the art in yourself and everything around you.

Makes me think of the linked cycle where people in other countries have their lives destroyed by American bombing and their children grow up with a white-hot hatred of America, set off their own bombs, and you end up self-righteously invading them again

Over the years security at Province House has been beefed up considerably. There are security cameras throughout the building and outside the legislature. The place even has its own police force now. This is clearly an attempt to shield government members from being questioned or criticized.

NS budget shortfalls force Tim Houston to eliminate ocean HALIFAX - After months of slashing provincial revenue, Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston has announced that he has been forced to entirely cut the Atlantic Ocean from the province.

β€œNova Scotians elected me with a clear mandate to starve government revenues before making catastrophic cuts to their standard of living,” Houston said, standing in front of a completely-drained Halifax Harbour. β€œOr at least, that’s how I interpreted it.” www.thebeaverton.com/2026/03/ns-b...

β€œNo one campaigned on cutting the arts budgets, slashing through the social safety nets, decimating the civil service organizations.

Had Houston campaigned on those issues, he surely would’ve lost the election.

And that deceit is why I’m angry at Tim Houston.”

We did a Headwater tour around San Gimignano a few years ago, we were only at hotels but that place looks similar to one! Prob pool materials that remind me

After 125 years, in a stable climate, you'd expect about 3 date record highs per year.
Now we've had 4 of those in 4 days.

It's not a stable climate anymore.

Americans: we live in a fallen stateβ€”embroiled by sin, cheating, lying, and evil. You cannot trust anyone, not even those who claim to know you best

Canadians: I love my neighbors and my friends!
