And like, I say that as someone who absolutely loves rolling around in Lancer trashing redshirts and smearing squads of infantry each time my Barbarossa - "Hungriest Hippo" - fires.
It's hard to do a good war story because it means "getting it" where a lot of folks have just been conditioned into Call of Duty or Halo where you're - at best - mowing down Objectively Bad Guys to Save The World. At worst, you never know or care much the enemy or mission, it's just warporn.
