while epstein's NZ plans were relatively shortlived, it's interesting to consider what attracted krauss to the country in the first place, and what an epstein-funded university institute in otago would have meant
krauss sends one more desperate email to epstein in november, asking for word on his decision around the institute, with epstein replying: "re new zealandβ I canβt get behind it."
in emails between krauss and otago university he later forwards to epstein, he discusses setting up an institute where him and his soon-to-be second wife would be employed, with initial private funding provided by an unnamed financier (epstein, who he hadn't asked yet)
later in 2012, krauss begins badgering epstein to discuss krauss' plans to spend "6 months a year" in NZ by setting up an institute, asking him to help save his life
