I’m not arguing with you about Israel & Hamas. I’m arguing with you about whether the US military targeted a girls school for the fuck of it, which even under Hagueseth, I don’t think they did.
No; but Israel’s perspective is they’re at war w Hamas. That leads to toleration of civcas incidental to defeating Hamas. They’re not killing kids for shits & giggles; and I doubt US or Israeli personnel said, “ ooh, a girls’ school! Let’s get ‘em!”
Don’t get me wrong: the other shit is horrifying. It’s just that it’s not waking up & saying “bwahaha, I will now kill kids.” It’s accepting massive civcas in one case, b/c of Oct 7 & previous rocket attacks; and in the other, callous disregard & cognitive dissonance.
Killing children isn’t a mil or pol objective. Telling your cultists you cut a ‘corrupt’ program & saved their $ is an objective; knocking out a Hamas command post is an objective. Bombing a school => no purpose; counter purpose if you want a popular uprising. So I doubt it was the intended target.
