I camped there for a week in the 80s. The wind whipped around my tent every night and made a hell of a noise. Not much sleep, but I remember it to this day. A magical place.

Ali Farka Toure got me interested in North African music. That led me to many other great bands and musicians from the region, like Tinariwen.
