Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court.
Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business.
As well as everyone else who stepped up.
hahah! scripts! They're the worst!
horse charging at the viewer usually traces back to Elizabeth Burton's Light Brigade, 1881. There's a horse two or three in from the left that looks not unlike these.
Absolutely beautiful Steve Sack
I wouldn't want to get into an argument about it, but while his skill and vision can't be denied, his practiced artifice and dedication to unwholesomeness make him the antithesis of all that drives me. There are many, many, artists whose work I dislike more, or have no thoughts about whatsoever.
Not sure why I was stepping in to defend Wrightson, (or at least query your description ofthe pic) as I have always despised his drawing, so you are confirming me in my position.
I'd want to check the context before agreeing with you. she looks like she's coming up into an attic via a trapdoor. But I always say that everything you need to understand a picture should be in the picture. (not a picture on another page)
I see there 36 pages to this story
the uncredited coloring is very good.
you kicked it onto a new level with this one.
January 24, 2026 at 18:42 Statement from Michael and Susan Pretti Parents of Alex Jeffrey Pretti "We are heartbroken but also very angry. Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the 'hero' term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump's murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.
For those who havenβt seen it yet, a heartbreaking statement from the victimβs parents.
missing my old copy of the 1973 softcover reprint (I have it but far from here) I recently bought the 1959 hardcover and was so glad i did. I re-read Kelly's running prose commentary over and over. Pick it up and jump in anywhere.
excellent. well done.

Who put "erase disc" right next to "eject disc"
what to get with that gift card
i was remembering a Schulz interview, faultily as it couldn't have been a fountain pen. too much trouble, as you say. (the Searle still looks like a fountain p, and not with indian ink) so as you were. here's a video, which you will have seen, but for anybody else
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjz5...
fountain pen ink wasn't usually permanent. And you wouldn't put indian ink in a good fountain pen. I guess that's what we're looking at.
But wait, Schulz used a fountain pen with indian ink. maybe he washed it out at the end of every session.
I'm heading down a rabbit hole with this.
anyway, great drawings. thanks for posting them. Searle was one of the greats.
"Markers ...popularized with Rosenthal's Magic Marker (1953)...a glass tube of ink with a felt wick. By 1958...felt-tipped markers were commonplace for a variety of applications such as lettering, labeling, and creating posters. The year 1962 brought the development of the modern fiber-tipped pen"
yes, stop that now!
We first noticed this problem when Gil Kane started inking his lines with a fine-point marker in late '60s. We knew they faded, but we didn't think anybody would do professional work with them. Searle did these drawings in 1952, yes? Did they even have felt tips then? must check
He appears to have used different inks, both black of course, as the illustrations were printed in black line, for the pen and the brush. The ink used with the pen has not held fast and has faded to sepia.
suggestion for last minute Christmas gift!
hahaha! JK don't need to do a whole new cartoon to be funny
it's Alice!
