Het sneeuwt een beetje onder in de berichtgeving dat VVD, BBB en NSC bereid waren een motie in te dienen om het tienpuntenplan van Wilders te steunen. Die basislijn was dus niets meer waard. Niet vergeten.

Linkse partijen verenigden zich razendsnel in het Nouveau Front Populaire (nieuw volksfront) en wonnen tot ieders verrassing de verkiezingen, in plaats van Le Pen.
Het is maar een ideetje.
Na anderhalf jaar stilstand heeft dit kabinet exact NIETS bereikt behalve populisme, zondebokspolitiek en constant vingerwijzen.
Het kabinet is gevallen en dat werd tijd.

Ik vind het echt beschamend en weerzinwekkend (understatement) dat dit überhaupt nodig is. Dat het vanuit Europa en de VS stil blijft en de Israëlische regering vrij spel heeft. Waar staan we nou eigenlijk voor? Er is veel te zeggen, maar ik heb er tegelijkertijd ook geen woorden voor…
Niet alleen van oppositieleiders, maar ook honderden accounts van mensen die de oppositie steunen, tegen Erdoğan’s regering zijn of überhaupt beeldmateriaal delen. Veel Turken zijn daarom ook recent overgestapt naar Bluesky. Niet voor niets dat zij de onderstaande afbeelding massaal hebben gedeeld.

What we are witnessing in Turkey is not a “democracy in crisis”. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤.
And this is a global concern, and 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞, recognising that the erosion of democratic rights anywhere threatens freedom everywhere.
Wie nu nog Geert Wilders steunt, wie met hem in een coalitie zit, wie op hem stemt, moet zich de vraag stellen wil ik de democratie en de rechtsstaat beschermen of wil ik het rechtsextremisme en haat tegen de medemens bevorderen.
